4.0 out of 5 starsWill This Get Posted?
February 2, 2019
On Feb. 1, I wrote a review for "The ABC Murders," which was not posted by Amazon. I called Amazon twice and spoke to four reps who had no explanation as to why my review was not posted. Finally, I received an e-mail from Amazon stating that my review was "hidden," which means I was censored. Why I was censored, I cannot say. The title of the review is "Not faithful to the Author's Intent." Yes, it was a negative review, but it was not inappropriate. I would certainly not write anything inappropriate. Moreover, as a retired teacher of Latin and English I pride myself on writing grammatically accurate reviews. This begs the question, of course, will this review be posted?

"A Royal Christmas Wedding," is a pleasant film about a prince, now a king of a small European kingdom, who left behind a woman he loved 17 years ago in Los Angeles where he had attended college. Unknown to him, the woman, Alison, played by Tara Reid, was pregnant with his child. Seventeen years later, their daughter, Lily, played by Haley Pullos, is a lovely, bubbly teenager, who always wondered who her father is. The king returns to L.A. on business after 17 years and visits Alison who is now a successful architect. What ensues after the King and Alison reconnect and how the truth is revealed makes for a good denoument. The clothes and hair styles are quite lovely in this film.

I recommend this film.

T. King
2.0 out of 5 starsLack of continuity and poor casting
February 10, 2019
Wow! Not a bad story, but bad acting and direction. Tara Reid was a very poor choice for the mother. Stiff and like she was reading from a teleprompter. No chemistry with the other actors. I was constantly distracted by her horrific posture and the poor wardrobe that made her droopy oversized chest look like it was sitting at her waist (had the wardrobe dept never heard of support garments?). The actress who played the daughter and actor who played the king might have carried off this movie, but Tara was so out of place. Continuity was definitely a challenge for this film. You have Tara's character come in the house, confronted by the daughter. Tara heads outside, where the father is waiting. They go back inside the house, and minutes later, there's a "ding" and Tara announces that it's her cookies. Huh? When did she make cookies... in the dress she'd been wearing since the night before? Might not be completely bad if they recast and remake as a Hallmark-type film.

5.0 out of 5 stars"Lily"the Daughter that never knew her dad until she met the King:General Hospital's"Jax"
March 25, 2019
Format: Prime VideoVerified Purchase
Great Movie, wonder why it was rated so low; it was wonderful & King Charles was the heartthrob "Jax" from General Hospital for over a decade, Gorgeous & he is a great actor too. I had wondered what happened to his acting career & here he is in this romantic movie that includes a fatherless daughter finding out she has a wonderful dad that didn't know she existed until she is 17 yrs old & Prince Charles {"Jax"} becomes King. This movie is for all those daughters that never met their dads & all the mothers that single handedly raised their child & reconnected with their first love of long ago. Beautiful Movie, Absolutely loved it.

I love low budget films, but this? The casting was horrific, I've seen better high school productions! NO attention to the smaller things like two light eyed parents and a brown-eyed child? not likely. the lead (mother) NO talent or enthusiasm for her role... like watching a dead fish. unless you are desperate to watch another Cinderella story? avoid.

5.0 out of 5 starsVery Sweet Movie & Relaxing to Watch
October 22, 2019
Format: Prime VideoVerified Purchase
I'd give this a 4.5 star rating - since there isn't an option for .5 stars, I've rounded to the nearest whole star.

Before I watched the movie, I read some of the reviews (both good and bad) to decide if I should try it or not. I'm glad I did! The cover of the movie looked enticing and designed sort of like a "Hallmark" cover movie is so I thought I'd take a chance. Is it predictable? Yes, but I didn't mind. Was there a couple flaws here or there like other reviewers have brought up? Sure, but I probably wouldn't have noticed had they not mentioned it. Seriously the color of one's eyes doesn't matter to me especially when a distant relative could have been the one that passed on the particular trait. I also didn't care if there was a brief (30 second or less scene) where the light was set for day and should have been night - again I might not have noticed it had it not been for the review. I don't know about movies on the technical side of things - I just like to get caught up in a really good movie and this movie got me caught up in it.

1.0 out of 5 starsVery amateurish!!
May 12, 2019
Format: Prime VideoVerified Purchase
Actors too old to have attended University 17 yrs ago.
Also I spent 27 yrs in the Navy and possess most of the medals/ribbons on the Kings chest! Seriously! Who was in charge of that one! Ribbons from DS/DS, Iraqi freedom and Afghanistan because they are pretty!!! But I cannot forgive displaying the Purple Heart - unforgivable!
Also the King should be referred as, "Your Majesty" NOT "Your Highness"
Actor puts accent on and off - no chemistry between the leads
Also for a King he has an extremely limited wardrobe! Same suit in three different scenes, three different days.

1.0 out of 5 starsNot worthy of your time

I seldom write reviews, however I must agree with other reviewers. This movie is a waste of time! Sadly, I kept hoping something would come of the movie to make me change my mind. NOT! THE direction of this movie was pathetic-nothing captivating in the least, plot predicted, some of the worst acting ever. It felt like it was a low budge film, that was thrown together over a weekend. Save yourself time, look for something worth watching! Better luck next time!

Useful cynic
1.0 out of 5 starsI'm ashamed that I watched until the end.
March 1, 2019
Format: Prime VideoVerified Purchase
This story could have been a sweet romantic bit of silliness. Tara Reid was sleepwalking through the performance. The story was as expected, but it was hard to care about the main character. The "king" was too old to have went to university only 18 years previously and while he was handsome and personable, it was hard to root for that "romance" when she showed no emotion in the entire movie.

The continuity was poor. The evening party went to a daytime scene, then night again. It was so poorly done that it was distracting. There was nothing lovable about the mom/daughter relationship. The partner and the old college friend seemed like a romance. I wanted to see where that went. I didn't much care about the King and his daughters mom. I might want to see how the king and daughter build a relationship, but I's prefer if mom would go back to her housing development.

1.0 out of 5 stars“We made Lily.” (She’s a kid, not a Buick!)
December 6, 2019
Format: Prime VideoVerified Purchase
I despise the ploy of a false start that sends you off in one direction only to quickly shove you into another… “But before that happened…” And then you are mistreated with a standard Christmas romance (of sorts). A doomed relationship, unrequited love…yadda-yadda-yadda. Poor mother Allison (played icily by comatose Tara Reid) is forced to raise her daughter alone while the king of nowhere (Ingo Rademacher) has a merry life controlled by a tyrant (Mira Furlan) who always knows what’s best for her king. The reunion could have been covered in five minutes but was dragged out for all 12 days of Christmas. It felt like it took years to get to the point. Dull. Made more so by a non-performance credited to Tara Reid, she of the blank expression. A storefront mannequin could have played this part! And directed as only David DeCoteau can…with absolutely no finesse.

Dragonstorm
4.0 out of 5 starsA Nice Show.
February 18, 2019
Format: Prime VideoVerified Purchase
I am a guy that loves a good romance movie. With the name Dragonstorm one can well imagine that I love a good fantasy. Wile this is true, and this movie had everything I might want in one, The romance was dry and the two leads lacked the spark of love. One need only compare the second lovers to the first to see the stars were stiff and half hearted in their actions and lines.
Don't get me wrong this is a nice show, just not a great one. It is a great story told by a poor story teller. It well reminds me of a joke that someone feels the need to explain after the joke is over making it not funny anymore.
