5.0 out of 5 starsExcellent Headphones
December 30, 2018
I bought these headphones for my wife as she was using ear buds, but wanted some nice noise cancellation headphones. For this review, I used them for about a week when I received them.

Overall, the headphones, light, attractive and very comfortable. They come with a carrying case, USB charging cable, 3.5mm Aux cable, airline headphone adapter, and a 3.5mm to 6.5mm converter. They are fully adjustable and fit well on the head. The pads are nice and soft and do not hurt the ears after hours of use. The are also detachable so they can be replaced if needed.

The controls are easy to find and use while wearing them. Pairing is simple and the volume and skip works as expected. When using with your phone, a nice chime indicates an incoming call. You can use the controls to reject the call or answer and end the call. The microphone works well and the audio is clear to the person on the other end.

The noise cancelling works very well - I have to wave at my wife or yell real load to get her attention when she is using them. I used them on our trip to the in laws for Christmas (the wife was driving) and they got rid of the car and engine noise.

The sound quality is excellent!! It is very crisp and much better than my Sony headphones and others I have used in the past.

The battery time is excellent also. They advertise 30 hours of use on a full charge. I am not sure how long me or my wife used them but is was quite a few hours and we have not had to charge them yet.

They also come with an 18 month warranty. I would recommend these to anyone!!!

1.0 out of 5 starsSorry to burst hype bubble out there (just returned it for poor ANC implementation)
March 21, 2019
UPDATE: My rating goes down from 2-stars to 1-star (purely due to unacceptable tactics of Cowin).
I had already quickly returned Cowin SE7 headphone 6 months ago and Amazon had already refunded me (a fact that should be clear to Cowin, thru my purchase history). Yet previous day I receive a txt message at my cell phone from a CA phone number; (without any identification) someone addresses me with my name and mentions my Cowin SE7 purchase on Amazon... "They" are offering me a full refund or a free replacement. Which one would I like?...
I immediately replied that; I had already returned it months ago and by the way; you don't have right to contact customers directly at their phone numbers. You are required to stop immediately, otherwise that'll be reported to Amazon... Few minutes later this time I receive an email from a guy at "Amazon Review Services" . He mentions that; they are a third party and they noticed my negative review. Same offer is repeated; "The manufacturer will gladly give you a 100% refund on the product or a FREE replacement. There is no need to worry about returning the original product. It's yours to keep!" (do I smell a bribe here?).
At that point I took my time to report this to Amazon.
Now listen to me Cowin very carefully;
1) My reviews can never be influenced with your "enticing offers".
2) don't you ever have nerve again to share my personal data (like my cell phone number and email) to your "third parties". This is simply illegal as I never provided my consent. Amazon provides customer data to you to only fulfill orders, never to harass them for their reviews.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My only criticism here will be on Active Noise Cancellation feature.
Otherwise audio quality (if you listen without ANC) is good, as well as build quality, ergonomics, battery life.
But then, (without ANC) you can buy a similar headphone at much lower price point.

Now to ANC :
(after reading many glowing reviews and trying the product myself) I'm really surprised how majority of people can't correctly judge / describe what they are experiencing.
A real ANC circuitry requires inverting ambient sound signal picked by microphones (on each ear-cup) and applying this to speakers. That process should never interfere with audio signal (your music) which is also driving the same speakers. So there should be two completely separate (for each L-R channel of course) signal paths / processing.

What this headphone circuitry seem to have is a "band-reject/attenuation filter" (tuned to around 60-200Hz, where most of real world rumbling exist). So instead of employing (such as above mentioned) separate noise inversion circuitry, engineers of Cowin must have opted for a much simpler band-reject filter. "Why" you would ask? Much cheaper to implement (fewer components).
Yet it gets worse; they are passing the music signal as well thru that band-reject filter! How one comes to that conclusion? Simple; listen to details of your music crossings in such lower frequency region. Almost all reviewers correctly mentioned as; "you lose bass when you engage ANC". That's correct (as your bass range is below 200 Hz), but missing the critical design flaw. If you continue to pay attention; you (should) very quickly realize that also other dynamic elements of the song (in that frequency range) is fading in & out as it pass thru. It feels like there is a hole in audible range - and elements of your music (in that range) just disappear in that hole. That is simply that band-rejection filter butchering your audio.
So design engineers must have opted out to use much cheaper/simpler chipset which gives the illusion of Noise Cancellation. One single signal pathway - cuts that low frequency band from your music AND some ambient noise from microphone. This is not real ANC and you get your music butchered. By the way; even if you try ANC itself (without playing any music); it's not really that effective.

There is a reason why higher-end Bose/Sony ANC headphones command a premium price.

BOTTOM LINE: When you read reviews as such "you lose bass when you engage ANC" simply run for your life; you are looking at another pretend-to-be ANC headphone with cheap circuitry.

For the reference; I did all my testing by playing FLAC files (lossless compression), to make sure that the source is pure.

Theses are incredibly comfortable. The build quality, weight, and styling scream premium. As far as the sound quality, they're really great! The bass is solid and deep while the mids and highs get to be heard loud and clear. I would definitely recommend these.

5.0 out of 5 starsWant a great set of headphone at a more reasonable price - this is what you are looking for!
November 23, 2018

What a great set of headphone. I own a couple pairs of the Cowin E7 headphones (two different colors). When I saw there was an upgrade called SE7, I had to get a pair and see if they were really "NEW AND IMPROVED". I am pleased to say that the SE7 live up to the hype.

Appearance, fit and comfort - Cowin has made internal changes in the past. WIth the SE7's have a new, more compact look and feel. I find that the SE7 and E7 are both equality comfortable when it comes to padding. The SE7 seem to be a bit tighter fitting but that could simply be because the earpieces tilt in more than the E7. I have had the E7 slide a bit on my when leaning over working in the yard - nothing big but needs the occasional adjustment. The SE7 do not shift around at all. Physically, the SE7 seem a bit sturdier - but that could simply be an impression. My E7 has taken a good deal of abuse and have not had a single problem.

Sound quality - I was completely satisfied with the sound quality of the E7. I tend to be audiobook listener with the occasional switch to music. I was VERY surprised to see a sound improvement with the SE7. I am not an audiophile, but it does seem that the sound is a bit richer and deeper.

MIC function - I haven't had a chance to use the mic function yet. I don't often use the mic with this style of headset.

Active Noise Cancelling - The active noise canceling is amazing on both the E7 and SE7. When both work so well, it is hard to pick which is "better". I can run a backpack blower and easily hear the soft sounds without cranking up the volume.

Battery Life - I have been using these SE7 for more than a week and have yet to charge. Kind of hard to critique if you can't find the end of the battery life.

So which is better- that is really hard to say. I would have been 100% satisfied using my E7 for a long time and would have never missed the sound and comfort improvements. Now that I have them in the SE7, I will use the E7 as backups only. Which should you buy - you can't go wrong with either one. It will come down to your budget and style preference.

First off these things looks good, I love the sleek black look and the build quality is nice, It can flex so just in case, and the ear cuffs move so it give you a good fit on your head.
The sound quality is good also, its not bass heavy but bass is there.
I tried out calls on it and the other person said it dont sound too bad but i wouldn't use these are a main way to talk on the phone
THE EAR CUSHIONS ARE SO SOFT AND COMFORTABLE.. This thing feels good and doesn't have that clamping felling if you wear it for a long time.
It makes me feel like im in a quite room and no one is talking. When music is on it help block out the outside noise even more, but when music is on you cant really hear outside noise to begin with.

overall these headphones are really good, Love the ANC and the sound and build quality are well done. Good job COWIN

5.0 out of 5 starsThese hit the sweet spot for price, features and quality!

Cowin is my go to brand for Quality headphones that don't break the bank. And the SE7s are no exception.

First impression
When I opened the box I was very pleased. These headphones come in a very nice case and include instructions and warranty information. Once I opened the case, the headphones were folded away and what really impressed me was that all the included cables were in a nice velvet bag. Nice touch! And these headphones just feel like quality headphones.

Fit
These headphones are lightweight and comfortable. The headphones feel secure, but not snug. I wear a 7.5 size hat for reference. But, there's plenty of adjustments that should allow these to fit most heads comfortablly. The earcups are made of a very nice material that is well padded and the earcups themselves swivel for even more adjustment.

Sound
These headphones can be used either with an included wire or via bluetooth, which syncs up quick and easily. Sound is always a personal preference. In my opinion, I think they sound great. They have nice bass without being overpowering. The music sounds clear and when you crank these babies up to 11 they don't distort, but they are loud! The sound is every bit as good as my Bose headphones.

Other things with mentioning
The noise cancelling on these headphones are pretty good. I used these on my recent trip and they did help to drown out the aircraft noise. I will say that my Bose QC35 do a better job, but are 3x the cost the Cowins do a great job. The Battery life is outstanding. I dont know if they can go a full 30 hours, but they lasted all day for me.

These can also be used to receive calls. To be honest, I don't like to make calls using headphones, but the one time a call came through while I was wearing them, the caller didn't seem to notice.

Overall, I'm very pleased with these headphones. I think it would be difficult to find better headphones at this price.

Far cheaper than beats at only around $100. Material is good. Compactable. Comes with cord to hook up to your computer and a jack to hook into an amp. Carrying case is nice as well. I was impressed with the noise cancellation as well.

5.0 out of 5 starsThey are a great value for NC headphones
January 12, 2019
Color: BlackVerified Purchase
I've been using the new SE7s for over a week now. Both at home, office, and the library. The sound on these is really good. They are bass heavy for those that like that music with lots of thump. But they still give enough sound to the mids and highs that you can listen to most if not all music just fine. I was comparing these to my Sony MX1000 M2s. So a high bar to meet. These did hit harder than my Sony's in any hip hop or pop song and I kind of digged that. I could see how these would be good to wear when I need that extra BOOM when working out or just needing to get pumped up. As far as noise cancelling they are better then the older models Cowin has but not as good as the M2s. But that is not a fair comparison as one headphone cost me under 100 and the other 300. For the price these are really good and a great way for folks to get NC at a better price than 300+. As for the build quality I like the SE7s they feel sturdy and the ear cups are very comfortable. They are also just light enough that they feel great on your head but heavy enough to make you feel like you wont break them. I also like this design way better than the old Cowin E7 model. These are more sleek and understated as well as fit a lot better on my head. The E7 always felt a bit tight and looked so big I felt like they stood out for the wrong reason. The SE7s mean while are nice and minimal. I love the matted black and how it doesn't have the shinny chrome like the E7s. The controls are also better than the old E7s. They are more intuitive and easier to use. The battery life is also a lot better than the E7s and I was able to use these all weak before I had to charge them. I use them about 2-3 hours a day and about 5-6 on weekends when studying. I like how these come with a carrying case and that it has a nice internal pocket for the charging cable, inline cable, and airplane connector to be stored in. All in all these are a great value for the money. You won't find any better headphones in terms of NC, look, feel, and comfort for 100 bucks. If you want some great sounding headphones with solid NC features def check the SE7s out!

5.0 out of 5 starsANC is INCREDIBLE.
November 1, 2018
Color: BlackVerified Purchase
The best feature of these headphones is easy to describe: the Active Noise Canceling.

Truth be told, lots of features of these headphones are unremarkable, just as one would expect from a mid-range prices set of headphones. But this ANC is DYNAMITE! I’ve got 2 other pair of ANC headphones and they don’t even come close.

Next best feature, the fit. They fit snug and tight around my head and ears. The cups rotate in a way that I didn’t like when I was playing with them, but when I put them on my head, they felt great.

Audio is ok. I’m not an audio snob and I realize these are Bluetooth so they won’t be amazing. If you’re a bass head, these aren’t the headphones for you. If you listen to podcasts or acoustic stuff, they sound pretty good!

I just got these in the mail today, so I’ll update my full review after a few weeks, but overall, these headphones are a major go, ESPECIALLY if you have some loud kids or work in a noisy office.

The new SE7 head phones are light and super comfortable. I was working on a project for about 4 hours and almost forgot I had them on. The stereo sound quality is fantastic and they block out the surrounding noise. It was impressive considering our dogs make a ton of noise. I was able to take phone calls while working and according to a friend of mine they sounded great win their end. These headphones are as good as advertised and a great price.
