He would bark loudly at someone walking behind a closed door. He barked at children, babies, the people next door, my grandmother, me, my own baby. My child is teething and is up all night. When she finally went to sleep the dog barked at the silence. Good God. I was up for 41 hours. I cried and ordered this no bark collar and it Rush shipping. It saved my life. He would bark and cause himself anxiety. I truly believe that. After he stopped barking he was happier. He finally approached the nice couple living next door with a tail wagging. He's never done that before as he usually would be flipping out. I can take him on a walk and to the dog park. Before he would go up to a poor person and just bark at them. His behavior as a whole has changed for the better! I don't even need to charge it! He plays with other dogs now!
We have purchased a slew of different bark deterrents over the last year and a half. From solar spikes in the ground that strobe to white bird houses that flash red and green. Nothing really worked until this collar. Don't want to sound like some cliche but finally found this collar. It doesn't shock just vibrates and sounds off a beep and our dog that barked unhinged now has completely changed his behavior. We only put it on him when he goes out back because he kinda looks a little bummed out if he has it on too long.
When he's not wearing it we put it in the charger. Oh and that green fabric collar didn't work nearly as well as the off white plastic one. You want the metal ends on his fur to work without a hitch. I feel like this is one of those Norelco I loved the product so much I bought the company moments. It's transformed our 70 pound dogs behavior as far as the barking. Not into long reviews but thought we'd share our experience for those at the beginning of the 'what to do' about our insanely barking dog.
I was going back and forth about using a barking collar on my dog who I'm obsessed with. I just knew I definitely did not want a "sock collar". This one offers the options to do a shock (which doesn't feel too harsh) or just the beep and vibrate. I have it on the beep and vibrate mode and it's working great! The vibrate really scared my dog the first few times but he is pretty much scared of everything. We took him on a walk with it on and he did not bark once at any person or dog we walked past which was a very welcome change! We also had the front windows and door open to the house so he could see outside and usually when people walk their dogs past our house (which is a lot) he loses his ever-loving mind but this time he just stood and wagged his tail! Every once in a while he still tests it out by giving a bark when he is overly excited but he quickly learns his lesson. I think eventually we won't have to use this because he will know when it is acceptable to bark but so far, this has been a dream.
The collar is a good size so it fits a lot of different neck sizes but the mechanical part is pretty small which is nice because it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb when he wears it. He doesn't seem to be bothered by it (no itching or trying to get it off) when he has it on. The collar has a reflective yellow strip which helps us to see that it is on. (We take it off when we leave the house or for bed time.)
I finally had enough and decided to get a back control collar. My 2.5 yr female Vizsla has started to be a barker in the last year, and she is trying to protect the house and family. She completely respects our invisible fence and the boundaries of it. With that in mind, I finally decided to add the aid of this collar. I browsed for months and nearly bought one unit for approx. $100 last month, but when I watched the video on this product, I was completely hooked.
It came quickly in the mail, it was not overly elaborate in accessories or assembly. The guide was very good at walking me through the set up and testing process. My barker has barked less with the use of this collar still on vibrate and beep than she has in about a year. I'm totally satisfied. I also have the higher modes to move up to, and the static shock mode to transition to if it becomes necessary. I truly don't think it will be necessary. All dogs are different. My dog loves wearing her collar(s) and will actually bring them to us when they are off and she wants them to be put back on. Such a girly girl!! I highly recommend this product.
I love my dog. I do not love when she barks incessantly. It's very very hard to deal with and was impacting our quality of life. After some research I decided to buy that's collar, not only did it first appear to be of good quality, but the price was good as well. Now, I have bought a few bark collars in the past, and I can say that this one has been the best purchase I have made. Her barking was curbed immediately, it looks nice, it worked right away, and did not feel or appear cheap. If I had another dog that barked I would buy another one of these. Another thing I really like are the levels of Correction, it's nice to know that I can start low and go higher if needed. Overall I am thrilled with my purchase!
Wow! Didnt think I'd ever find something to curb my schnauzers love for barking. Spent over 200.00 on the sonic large ultra sonic egg - didn't phase her one bit but worked for my maltipoo. Spent 130 on petsafe small dog static collar... again.. like she had nothing on at all. Tried a manual static collar... only works when you're there to push the button. Put this new collar on her and within a half hour... she knew to stop barking. Let me say.... this isn't something to keep on all day all the time. This is when she barks out of control and we're camping. Or in the car and she barks at everything that moves. It has its place and hopefully in time... I wont need it at all. For 30.00... I figured how good could it be... worth every penny and then some. Would absolutely suggest. I'm impressed I was able to put this on the lowest setting with great results. I wasn't given this item... I purchased it after reading many many reviews on all types of collars. Totally impressed. We will see how it holds up over time.
I have used a couple of different collars with my dog and I'd have to say this one works the best. I've used a battery powered one that seems to always hand dead batteries that need changed. That gets tiresome. I also have a collar that it remote control powered which has worked really well but you have to be home and listening to to hit the button when they bark. That's unrealistic so it doesn't truly train them to stop. What's wonderful about this one in particular is that it's rechargeable, no need to keep buying batteries all the time. It's powered by the bark so it actually trains them. And it doesn't just shock, you can set it to vibrate as well which I think is a little more gentle. This has worked wonders on my dog. She barks at everything and nothing. When she barks this beeps a few times then vibrates. She's become conditioned to associate the beeping with what's to come which seems to almost be enough. It would be interesting to see if she stopped barking by the beep alone if that was an option. Regardless, the vibrate doesn't hurt her, it's just an odd sensation she doesn't like and makes her stop barking. She'll bark at something 2 times then stops. Nothing has worked this well and we've used everything to get her to stop. We had honestly given up before finding this.
This collar is great. I like how it doesn’t shock unless the barking continues after sounding a warning beep and vibration. For instance, when the dog begins to bark, the collar will first just beep and vibrate as a warning. If the dog continues to bark, the collar then beeps, vibrates and will shock at a low level. If the barking continues, the shock will get progressively stronger after beeping and vibrating. After using it for just one day, our dog might bark one time, but now after he hears the beep and vibration, he stops! Since he only barks once now, the collar doesn’t even make it to the point of needing to shock him. He stops barking after just hearing it beep and vibrate. Love it!
