This was a terrible book, probably written over lunch. I should get my money back. Definitely the last Dan Ames book I buy. Lee Child should be made aware of the books being published with the name Jack Reacher as a drawcard.
Great quick read in this latest book in the series. This book stands on its own as Jack Reacher is barely mentioned and has nothing to do with the latest case featuring Tallon and Pauling. Action throughout and Pauling shines as the main hero.
Main dislike is it is too short. I love the storyline, the characters, I want to keep reading. The best part there are still more books to come. (I thought it was only 8 books series but there is more coming! Yea!) Best modern pulp there is today. Just get it and enjoy.
Two men shot. Another knifed. Woman raped, slaughtered. Military cyber security force penetrated. Vultures enjoy human body. Lady sheriff wonders if there's more than one killer. Jogger finds two more bodies in desert ravine.
What's going on? Is Reacher involved?
Sheriff questions Michael Tallon, meets visiting Lauren Pauling.
Now a marauder's face is bashed in. But wait, how come the footprints are all the same size, but they're from different people? And why did the crime lab find Tallon's fingerprint on evidence from the first murder scene but not the second! Sheriff arrests Tallon for murder. Pauling kills a marauder, but who’s the skinny guy with a knife at her throat? No, it’s not Reacher.
You wanted intrique and mystery? Both are yours – in large doses – in this engaging, quick reading puzzler.
This book , as all the others in this series , is a great read. It is a fast paced thriller, well written, tight, intriguing storyline with unexpected twists. Tallon and Pauling are fabulous together. Shadowy military entities, mystery, murders, mayhem, what's not to like? I also appreciate, as a female reader, that the author really treats Pauling as Tallon's equal, every bit as capable and intelligent as he is. that they are truly a team that work together both professionally and personally. I am an ARC reader and I can honestly say this book was well worth my time. I recommend this book and this author.
Tension captures you of the mission they are getting ready for from the first page. With a loose cannon on his team to keep control over, to a female they didn’t know would be there, a massacre, the mission was a bust. Talon getting ready for Pauling to come.hoping it would be permanent. This was a test run, with her company.sold, she had no commitments. The dialog is sharp, with non stop action, murder, romance. Another winner in this series. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
