GREAT SET OF BLUEDIO CANs (EXCEPT 2 Irritating things!)
Reviewed in the United States on August 6, 2017
I finally purchased the Bluedio Victory set (I had been waiting for them to go on sale at Amazon – Lighning Deal - finally- YES!). I will consider these as my Bluedio high-end set of cans. However, my favorite set of Bluedio cans are the model “R.” I also have the “R+” but I prefer the R set. Since I commute in the Washington DC area using the metro train, an over-the-ear set of cans are best to block outside noise. So noise-limiting cans are a must – even better are having a noise-reduction set such as Bose headphone. So, I always carry a set of Bose noise-canceling cans with me. But for general every day use, my Bluedio “R's” are my favorite. The “R's”have the oval-shape to the ear cup (they fit nice) and the microSD card feature in the “R's” is a great feature, as I have my favorite music loaded right in the set on the microSD card, so there is no need to use Bluetooth to connect to my phone or tablet. I say all this about my favorite Bluedio R's because, when I used the new Victory set, I compared them to the Bluedio “R” set.
The Victory cans are round and not oval-shaped, which is no problem for me as I have small ears, so the Victory set sits well completely over my ears. But since I am used to the oval-shape – the “Rs” win that battle, plus the R's are so much lighter in weight! The Victory cans are pretty heavy. I don't really mind that, but for me that limits my use of the Victory set. My Washington DC travel commute time is 4 hrs per day, so having a lighter set of cans is best. Don't get me wrong I like the Victory set because they are built with metal and have that high-end quality to them. So I predict the Victory set will outlast my R sets (OK – I purchased an extra set of R's because I like them so much). But, all around, I consider the Victory set my best set! But, if you commute to workl like I do get set of R's. The quality of the sound in the Victory set (12 speakers) is obviously unsurpassed by any other headphone manufacturer. The Victory sound is great – totally clean and effortless mids, highs and the great Bluedio lower-end bass is all there!
So all around- the Victory set IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!. If you love Bluedio headphones (like I do) – you gotta buy the Victory set for your collection!!!
Negatives (only a few):
(1) Volume “Beep”: I do not like the annoying “Beep” with the volume (finger slide) function!! There is this “beep” for a very increment of adjustment in volume. So, Bluedio PLEASE get rid of that “beep” feature!! Reason - I know by the music volume whether I have increased the volume or lowered the volume. So I do NOT need a loud “beep” for a every increment in volume. This is very annoying when you are listening to music and your hear a loud beep when you adjust the volume! So, that feature has to go – hands down!!
(2) Bluetooth static pause: The last issue which is good and bad is these are so easy to connect with Bluetooth – which is the “good” for a Bluetooth feature. However, the “bad” is while I was on the train commuting to work using the Bluetooth feature connected to my phone, it appears the other phones in the train (all having Bluetooth capability) maybe trying to connect to my Victory set? Seems every time new passengers got on the train near to me there was a noise/interruption in my music (static pause) as if my Victory set is denying Bluetooth access to other nearby Bluetooth phones? That's all I could figure out what was happening. The interrupting period stops after a bit once everything is settled down in the train car until new passengers get on the train again. Then it starts again. Of course without technical testing, I cannot confirm that is the source of the problem, but that is what I believe is the problem.
(3) HEAVY set of cans. You will get a tad fatigued wearing these cans for long periods.
As these cans are slightly heavy, and for the Volume beep, and Bluetooth issue (listed above), my Victory set will be for home use only.
** I am glad I purchased these for my collection of Bluedio headphones!! I highly recommend them – just not for commuting purposes.**
