More of You is everything I want in a second chance romance. And more. AL Jackson ignites an intensity only she can deliver and creates characters full of an unbridled passion that is hard to match. Faith Avery and Jace Jacobs are the very epitome of true love that sadly got snatched away due to bad decisions and the ongoing guilt of never being good enough. What the Beauty and her Beast had was quietly beautiful and as they come face to face again after 10 long years apart, I was right there with them, secretly hopeful they could find their magic once more.
Being at a loss for words when it comes to Jackson and her work seems to be my norm these days. What she has masterfully perfected with this book is a gorgeously-guided journey for Faith and Jace filled with a plethora of emotions with each turn of the page. The underlying mystery that is the very reason why Jace is back to help Faith when she is at her lowest, makes this story all the more intriguing. Their chemistry is evident even when they aren't next to each other. The tether that links their hearts was never stronger. And despite all their reasons, all their logic as to why they shouldn't be together, getting to see those walls crumble, each letting the other in oh so carefully, was nothing short of wonderful for me.
Theirs is not an easy road. But with incredible support from bestie Courtney, brother Ian and best friend in Mack, both Faith and Jace have the makings of a family they could only dare dream of, once upon a time. And the sunshine that is Bailey with her innocence and adorable musings, only made me fall harder for this entire cast of characters.
Add to that, one helluva jaw-dropping revelation and the heat that is never at a low simmer when it comes to Jace and Faith, and you've got yourself the consummate story. AL Jackson brings her writing to yet another level with the start of the Confessions of the Heart series and I look forward to more.
When you want the very best in second-chance romance, look no further than More of You. It is a book that will grab you by the heart and soul and fill both up completely.
I've been trying to think of the words that will do this book justice because this is AL Jackson at her best so here I go. Wow this book is something else. You can feel the raw emotion and intensity come right off the pages. The suspense had my heart racing so fast I thought it was going to come out of my chest. You don't just read this book it becomes a part of your soul. Love Jace, Faith, and Bailey with all my heart.❤❤❤
How do I even begin to put into words a review that could possibly do this book justice??? I'm not sure I can but I will definitely try because this book deserves all the love and words!! I took my time with this read because I wanted to savor every word. I was gripped from the very first page and captivated by the story with its heartpounding suspense, on the edge of your seat roller coaster ride of emotions and undying profound love. Jace and Faith's story is all-consuming and will have you smiling, laughing, crying and absolutely falling head over heels in love with little Bailey. Prepare to be left breathless from this breathtaking love story!
The prologue of More of You started with a heartbreaking bang and relentlessly drug me through all the pain, torture, love, and healing that comes with an emotional reunion after ten years of miserable separation.
More of You is a moving second-chance romance. The emotions this book pulled me through were overwhelming and beautiful. AL Jackson has a fabulous ability to wring the full gamut of feelings from her readers, and she did that to the extreme in this book. She was especially proficient at conveying how much pain Faith and Jace had gone through – and continued to experience – while they were apart. There were times when my heart ached, and I felt sick to my stomach because of things they’d suffered through.
One of my favorite parts of More of You was the flashback scenes that took us through Faith and Jace’s previous relationship and all the significant moments they’d experienced while they were apart. How she related them to the things happening in the present and how she tied them all together, in the end, was profound. It gave us a complete picture of how intricate and intense the life Jace and Faith had unwittingly been brought into was.
I loved the suspense element in this book and how the root of it was woven through all the pain Faith and Jae had experienced throughout their relationship. Ms. Jackson did a wonderful job of leaving a trail of breadcrumbs throughout the past and present to lead us to the crux of the nightmare they were living in.
More of You is the first book in AL Jackson’s Confessions of the Heart series. These books are slated to be interconnected standalones, each will be a complete story and can be enjoyed without reading other books in the series. More of You is written in dual first-person perspective, narrated by Faith and Jace.
AL Jackson is a master of hugely emotional, sweeping romances. She weaves powerful stories of hope and healing, often adding sweet elements of other types of love into them which adds a layer of poignancy to her work. She peppers her work with sentences and passages that are so sublime; I often find myself stopping to revel in her astounding prose.
More of You is the first book in A.L. Jackson’s new series Confessions of the Heart. The first book is Jace and Faith’s story it is a slow burn, second chance romance, with a single Mom, and one HOT hero.
I could tell just from the prologue that is story had the potential to break my heart. We find out that Jace had left Faith when they were in high school and broke her heart.
They met in high school she was the nice girl and he was the down and out poor kid the outcast in town. They first saw each other in high school when Jace is caught stealing food and denies he did it. Faith follows him and sees him giving the sandwiches to a younger boy who was crying. They just seemed to form a bond after that. That bond lead to more but Jace never thought that he was good enough for her.
The real reason that Jace had left town was he took the fall for something that he didn’t do and ends up spending 3 years in jail. Upon getting out the first thing that he wants to do is see Faith until Ian tells him she is married to his cousin Joseph no less. Jace stays away and makes a life for himself until there is a murder and Jace goes back to make sure that Faith will stay safe.
The way the author weaved the past and the present and all the lies and truths WOW. Just when I think I know what is going on I discover I don’t. The secrets that came out were so well hidden and revealed at precisely the right time to increase the impact to my heart. I was on the edge of my seat reading this story. Chapter 31 wow so well written felt like I was there and it just about did me in!!
More of You had some heart stopping moments and I couldn’t stop flipping the pages on my kindle. It was jam-packed with mystery and suspense.
The love they had shared had not died and it was still very steamy with some serious chemistry. It is a story about forgiveness, friendship, and family.
There was some great secondary characters Jace’s brother Ian and best friend Mack who just happens to be on the police force, and Faith’s feisty best friend Courtney. But the best was Bailey Anne is the cutest little girl and Faith and Joseph’s daughter.
This book was amazing from start to finish with no lulls. In the end all the pieces fit together beautifully with a fabulous epilogue. Can’t wait for this next story in this new series by AL Jackson. Wonder who’s story it will be??
I knew from the first few pages of this story that I was going to love it. But I had no idea that it was going to totally captivate me and blow me away. It is a beautiful second chances story that encompasses so many feelings on all levels. At times you will laugh and at other times your eyes will tear up, your heart will break for Jace and Faith and what they have been through. But it will also mend in such a beautiful way that you won't want the story to end. It is a story about selflessness, regrets, love, loyalty, and growing up on the wrong side of the tracks. There is also a suspenseful aspect to the story as well that keeps you guessing right up until the very end.
AL Jackson is a master at weaving words together that create so much emotion in one or two sentences, that I find I read some parts two times just so I can absorb the feeling because I am so captivated by the meaning of it and the emotion it creates in me.
More Of You is a MUST READ for 2018! It deserves a 10 STAR rating!
More of You is a stunning second-chance romance had me under it’s spell from the very first page. A powerful, inspiring, emotionally raw, intense, suspenseful, incredibly sexy, and breathtakingly romantic love story.
Jace is a broken and complex man who is fiercely protective and loyal to a fault. Faith is sweet, strong, selfless to a fault, and a dreamer. Their paths first collide as teenagers. They are inexplicably drawn to one another. They share an intense connection and quickly become inseparable. This is a beautiful story of young love that is tragically torn apart and years later their paths collide once again. Even after years apart, that magnetic pull to one another is still forever drawn home. No matter how hard they try to deny it, the hearts wants what it wants. Searching for that missing piece to make them whole and they are powerless to stop the fall. Oh, watching these two fall is magical! She’s light to his dark; beauty to his beast. The storyline is incredible well-written and flowed seamlessly. The secondary characters only add to the story. The unconditional love of family and friends is heartwarming. Always there through good times and bad. The suspenseful moments had me on the edge of my seat. The twists and turns are a rollercoaster ride of emotions. I could feel everything the characters experience; the emotions radiate from the pages and I was crying often. The heartfelt moments stole my breath and the heartbreaking ones shattered my soul. The sacrifices Jace makes for those he cherishes and the lengths they go to fight for love is breathtaking. A powerful story of faith and forgiveness that I didn’t want to end!
I highly recommend reading this stunning love story! I can’t wait for the next books in this interconnected series.
A.L. Jackson has slayed me once again with her words! More Of You is book 1 of the Confessions Of the Heart series. It is the second chance at romance for Jace and Faith. It has been 10 years since they have seen each other and there is so much hurt and pain in those years but God do they have such a beautiful love story before that. It's evil forces that bring Jace back to "sway aww the dragons" and Faith's adorable 3 year old daughter says. This book is such an amazing rollercoaster ride of emotions...fear, pain, hurt, love, desperation and hope. I didn't want this ride to end, but what a perfect ending it has.
A.L. Jackson is one of my favorite authors who also happens to be the queen of writing a second chance romance. I totally fell in love with the genre after reading her novel, Pulled and meeting my most favorite couple of hers, Daniel and Melanie.
I know it has got to be difficult to constantly come up with new ways to tell a second chance love story, but Amy has definitely found the perfect recipe for this one. She has not only given us that, but she's also given us a story about forgiveness and redemption and finding one's self-worth.
Jace and Faith fell in love while they were still in high school. Jace lives on the wrong side of the tracks, so to speak, but Faith doesn't care about any of that at all. While Jace is convinced he isn't and will never be good enough for Faith, she has absolute faith that he is a good person and is going to do great things with his life. But when he suddenly walks away from her, she has no choice but to go on with her life as best as she can.
Now it's 10 years later and Jace is back in town after Faith has suffered a devastating loss. He is now a hugely successful businessman, and more beautiful than ever. Faith knew he would make something of his life, but all she knows right now is that her life is falling apart. The last thing she needs is Jace Jacobs back in the picture, breaking her heart all over again.
Amy weaves a tale of suspense through this second chance story. Threats loom on the horizon for Faith, and all Jace wants to do is to protect her at all costs. He walked away from her once, he's bound and determined to never do it again.
This story is also one of forgiveness and redemption. For all of his life, Jace has had to struggle and do whatever was necessary to survive and to provide for his brother and cousin. He has never felt worthy of Faith and her goodness. Always feeling like the Beast and Faith his Beauty, only his ugliness all lives on the inside. And even though he has achieved great success, he still feels like the Beast with all of his ugly secrets festering inside, rotting his soul. Can he redeem himself with Faith and ask her to forgive him for walking away? Or are all of the things he needs forgiveness for too much to ask?
I really enjoyed the way this story unfolded, giving us dual points of view from both Faith and Jace, as well as taking us to the past to see how they met, fell in love, and what happened that tore them apart. Amy is a master at revealing the story slowly and surely, until we finally come to the reveal of what happened in the past, the secrets and lies that tore the couple apart. And when that is finally revealed, it always leaves me with all the feels!
I have to admit the one thing I had trouble with in this book was the writing style that Amy used. Parts of it felt a little disjointed to me which distracted me multiple times and I found myself re-reading sections to make sure I had absorbed everything. Amy's used this writing style in several of her other books, and the prose and lyric flowed very smoothly, but this book felt like Amy took this writing style to the next level. I just know I lost focus and had to re-read some scenes, and it took me longer to finish this book than it normally takes. I really loved the storyline and I know this is a book I will reread multiple times, so perhaps next time I read it, I will be in a more clear headspace and I won't have an issue with the structure of the book.
I really, really liked the dynamic between Faith and Jace. These two were obviously meant to be together. Fate just had other ideas for them at first, but no one, not even Fate, can change what was inevitably meant to be!
How I fell in love with Faith and Jace. It was layered with so much, I thought I knew which direction it was heading and then I was surprised. But the amazing thing,I fell for little Bailey Anne, that little girl reminds me of my 4 year old, pure and honest. It's hard to want to believe the best in people and not let them break you when they let you down. And I know firsthand about not seeing who people really are or wanting them to be what they show you. I love how she captures a strength in each of her characters. That strength is what keeps me coming back for more this author!!! I can't wait to read about Ian's story!!!
