Poor experience and results - don't waste your money
November 30, 2018
There were several issues I experienced when using my PowerPress. It does not heat evenly. I discovered this after completing a project. The part of the iron-on in the middle of the project wrinkled or lifted after pressing. I re-pressed the project and ended up burning the outside edges of the project. I decided to measure the heat across the plate and there is a several degree difference between the middle of the plate and the outside edges of the plate. I washed my shirt one time and some of the edges rolled up. Obviously the glue on the iron-on didn't get hot enough to bond with the shirt material even though I pressed it twice!!
Be careful when applying pressure. The start button is right on the handle and I ended up accidentally hitting the button and restarting my time when I applied pressure.
The press seems to give a little bit which I'm sure is due to the springs but it doesn't seem to give evenly. I have to be very careful to make sure that I'm applying pressure evenly. Otherwise the other sides of the press don't go down and that might be why the iron-on is coming off my shirt. It didn't get an even press.
Another thing that's concerning is that there isn't an auto shut off. I left my craft area to deal with something else and forgot I left it on. It was still on 2 hours later and the table was really hot!
Bottom line, don't waste your money.
