The necklace looks very pretty in person. Arriving broken is not good. Will the replacement I've ordered be better?
The red bag pictured is NOT the problem - that bag was folded in half (top left to bottom right in the photo) to fit in the box but it was just a cushion in the box which I used it as a background for the photo. Inside the box, which I believe was too small, the necklace was packed in a sealed cellophane bag which was definitely too small. If you broke the necklace's middle section in half then the bag would have been long enough for the necklace's two halves. The photo shows where the weld break is; the thread still attached won't withstand much handling.
This one has to go back but I won't hold my breath that the next one will be any better. Still some reviewers said they rec'd an undamaged necklace so maybe I'll get lucky. The retailer would do better to inspect the goods before shipping to customers and put a necklace in a long necklace box, that's why they make necklace boxes.
Editing my review after receiving a replacement necklace: The second necklace arrived FAST and UNbroken. It was still in a very small bag (the photo with tape measure) but this time in a re-close-able poly bag instead of the cellophane bag. If this means the retailer checked the necklace to be sure it was not broken before sending it out, this is excellent and appropriate. The necklace is very pretty and now I have one that I can wear.
