I bought the above product from Amazon to help eliminate some dead spaces in my house. I was hesitant because of so many products to choose from and so many have reviews where the buyer was paid to review it. I paid full price for this item on amazon and did not receive compensation. So it’s a real verified review. House is 2500sqft plus with walkout basement/living areas and 2 bedrooms. Our house is in a mountainous area by the lake. We use the WiFi connection to run fire sticks on the tv, business, school, home play etc. the basement had zero WiFi and cell coverage. The back bedrooms had dead spots for WiFi.
We bought this to help with that problem. It was very very easy to set up if YOU READ AND FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS! I followed them and set up was done in minutes with complete coverage in the bedrooms and in the basement. Plus added bonus was to both decks. It solved my issues and I have been using it for the weekend with zero issues and good coverage. I would absolutely recommend this product for someone looking for a way to solve the same problem.
My router is located at the back portion of the house and I wanted to leave it that way since moving it in the middle of the house to extend signal up to the second floor and up to the front portion of the house requires a long and different type of wires to run around from the router to the television (AT&T requires the cable box attach to router), as well as to my other ethernet unit attach to it (Hue Bridge, Extra TV router, Apple Devices, etc). Having this product plug into my living room area makes a difference. My Nest camera no longer lags. My wifi signal upstairs significantly improved. Just remember that this unit will assign a different wi-fi name similar to your home wi-fi but with additional _EXT extension. You have to connect your unit to the newly assigned wi-fi address to take advantage of the signal boost. Happy surfing.
I highly recommend this WiFi Repeater. It has a better range and is easier to set-up than the Linksys AC1900 Gigabit Range Extender. I've owned both. The WPS button works well when paring the Rock Space with the Linksys WRT 1900ACS router. Just plug the Rock Space in an outlet within 6ft to the router you are pairing it with and wait until to PWR led light is solid blue. Press the WPS button on the back of the Linksys router then within 2min press the WPS button on the Rock Space WiFi Repeater. When the blue led lights stop blinking the two are paired for 2.4GHz . Repeat the process to pair for 5GHz, it's THAT spimple! Unplug the Rock Space and move it half way between the Router and the dead zone. I have a 2,200sq/ft brick home with plaster walls and now get a solid 5 bar signal everywhere on the 5GHz band in my home.
Bought this range extender to help get my home's wifi signal from the 2nd floor to the basement. I had noticed that many similar products all had five star ratings, but none of them were verified purchases so were clearly fake. This product had actual reviews from actual purchasers. I've tried other extenders in the past from local big-box stores and none of them ever worked. This one was the easiest, fastest install ever. Literally took 5 minutes tops and we were up and running with computer and internet TV in the basement. Would highly recommend
This product has been a lifesaver for my family and me! We have Viasat satellite internet and so the speeds are not as good as what other internet providers. But it’s the only thing available in our area and I needed something as I was going to be working at home. While Viasat did it’s job, I did wish for faster speeds and this product delivered. It took my internet speed from around 4 to 13-14 mbps. So tripling it’s speed is what I would call successful! I would occasionally have issues in my home office which is a little further away from the modem and would cause issues every once in awhile.
But the biggest bang for the buck was for us streaming Hulu. As I mentioned above, our speed before was about 4mbps. They say Hulu requires like 3 or 4mbps. We would have some nights where Hulu was perfect, some nights where it would buffer a little bit but not too bad, and some nights where it was unwatchable, buffering for 10 seconds every 30 seconds! Well when our speed increased to 13-14 mbps, we have not seen any buffering and can stream without issues! So this product was great for both business and pleasure!
Lastly, the setup was soooo easy. Just plugged it in the closet where my modem lives and waited for the blue light to be solid blue. Pushed the WPS buttons on both the extender and the modem and waited for the solid blue. Then relocated the extender about halfway between the modem and my home office/bedroom and waited for solid blue. Then just had to connect my devices to the extender and used same modem password. Took maybe 5 minutes, maybe less and could not be happier!!
This is actually the third type of extender that I have ordered (I returned the first two because they either were very cumbersome to use or did not reflect their description in the Amazon listings) and I have found that it is wonderful in both of those categories, and also works really well. I would recommend it to anyone. Easy to set up, works as promised, and is a really good value for the cost!
I ordered this Rock Space AC1200 Dual Band WiFi repeater 3 days ago. Great price- free shipping. Arrived super fast and set up tonight in 5 minutes. Works excellent. Using the NETGEAR Night hawk dual band gigabit router. Great product and happy to recommend this to others. I have a network ready YAMAHA FM 120 watts per channel receiver in my workshop 40 feet away through 3 walls and needed a internet connection for it to use all features. I can relocate this AC1200 in workshop and use it to connect the YAMAHA to the internet via network (RJ45) cable Great product..Connected flawless to other hardware (laptop- iPad- iPhone 8). Happy after the first day of use. will update review in a few months. Very easy to setup and use.
Wifi coverage in our home (2 story, approx 1600 sq ft) has always been spotty. I've tried a couple different routers with limited success for whole house coverage. Reception was erratic under the carport, probably because of the metal roof. I tried using a spare router as a repeater but give up after spending hours without success. After reading all the good reviews on Amazon I decided to give the rock space AC1200 a try and I'm glad I did.
I used the suggested WPS method for setup and nothing could have been easier. I only had to press the WPS button on my router then the WPS button on the repeater and I had the blue led (signifying successful connection) in less than a minute. I then moved the repeater to a bedroom opposite end of house and was amazed by the signal strength recorded on both my cell phone and tablet. I then ran internet speed checks and could discern no degradation in speed as compared to my modem. The only glitch that cropped up was the availability of an outlet to plug into as all were blocked by dressers, night stands etc. That was solved by plugging the repeater into an extension cord.
Overall I'm very happy with this product and would highly recommend.
I usually don’t purchase products with only 9 5-star reviews but all of them seemed legit. Once I received the WiFi extender it literally took a minute install using the WPS connection. Once it was dialed in connecting my devices was a snap. This immensely helped the signal to the bedroom TVs which are at one end of the house and the WiFi router at the other. Just received and installed today 10/28/18 but will update if anything changes but so far so good.
I needed to extend my WiFi signal a bit to help out my Ring Video Doorbell Pro. The Ring was working pretty OK, but had some interference since it was outside & near the limit of strong WiFi. I set up this rock space AC1200 dual band at an outlet midway from the door to the Apple dual band router (2.4 Ghz & 5 Ghz) I use. Set up was easy and before you knew it the repeater was setup. Then change the WiFi connection of the Ring doorbell to the new rock space AC1200 repeater and the signal strength was twice as strong. Only a little better on 2.4 Ghz, but being able to connect at 5G made a big difference. My main router is in my office in back of house on the 3rd floor. I placed the range extended at the far end of my office under windows at the front of the house, very nearly over the front door below. Strong signal it is picking up and sending. Works perfectly. Small unit that is not ugly. (see pic)
This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks rock space!
