This camera is a lot of fun to use, and word just as advertised. The video quality could be a little better, but for the price, it’s better than I expected. When I confused how much I spent for this camera, I think you can’t go wrong. It’s simple to use and the directions are clear. It also ones with a really cool magnetic mount that works well.
Update: I had an issue where I couldn't get the camera to record, so I emailed the support email in the manual and they completely replaced the camera. It couldn't have been a better experience. Even though it broke, their customer service keeps my review at 5 Stars!
This is a decent camera, but I'm not a big fan of it all being local recording with no WiFi. I use this camera to keep an eye on my dog while I'm away and it kind of defeats the purpose by only being able to check it from the SD card/camera itself. It also doesn't come with a power adapter. I do like the small design and there is certainly some promise with this company, but for the money and lack of WiFi/power adapter, I'm gonna stick with Wyze.
Update: Ehomful reached out to me this morning regarding my review and offered to replace this camera with the WiFi camera free of charge. I got back to them and said that would be great and within an hour or two, they placed the order for me and said I can keep this camera as well. I'm upping my review to 5 starts because of the stellar customer service.
We bought this little hidden camera in the hope of finding out whether a neighborhood cat is eating the food we put out for it. We had to keep it hooked up to the cable, so it could run all night. We set it up for motion sensing, so that it would only record when something moved on the porch. It records for about 30 seconds after it detects motion, so playback is a bunch of little clips. Beats the heck out of having to go through an all-night recording to find the small action bits.
I've never seen a camera this small before. It was neat to power it up and see the teensy lights come on. It comes with a magnet that allows you to adjust the angle of viewing. The whole package was nice and thoughtfully put together. It came in a nice box, almost like a piece of jewelry. In addition to the magnet, it comes with a cleaning cloth, a little silver opener thing to pop the door open, charghing cord, a lanyard, thank you card, and directions. It was very nicely packed.
Oh, and the little lights don't stay on. When you first power it up they flash for a couple of seconds and then the whole thing goes dark. There's nothing at all that lights up while the camera is in use, so it's pretty discreet. This thing could be pretty stealth with some careful positioning. It would need the cord for any significant length of use, tho, because a charge only lasts a couple of hours.
It would be easy to hide if you wanted to, but we didn't need to since we were just looking for what animals were coming up onto the porch when we put the food out. It's really small, just a 1x1 cube. It won't work at all without a microSD card, so save yourself some hassle and get one at the same time you order. Sure wish I did.
Anyway, this is a pretty nifty, little camera. As a sleepwalker, I can't help but think this could be a cool (or terrifying) thing to hook up to catch yourself sleepwalking.
Great at what it does. It takes really good videos and pics that can be triggered by motion detection. The pics/videos that are recorded are very good quality, and they get timestamped when they are recorded to the SD card. I found that the battery doesn't last very long (a few hours), which would be ok for some short term tasks like a nanny cam, but for home security, plan on locating it close to an outlet for longer sessions. The best feature of this camera is the magnetic mount combined with the camera size make it very easy to hide it almost anywhere. I mounted it on a black wreath hanger on my back door, and it was almost invisible...no one in my family noticed it until I pointed it out. My biggest complaint is that it doesn't have an app to control settings and retrieve pics/videos. Wifi would be a great add-on as well. Live monitoring over wifi and app support for android/apple would make this camera great. I would settle for a PC app to configure it if that were an option, but you really need to develop an app, any app, to make this camera great.
I live in a not so good neighborhood, and receive a lot of packages. I always worry that I’ll miss the delivery and someone will take it off my porch. Now I have this mini spy camera so if anything happens I can just go back and look. It’s not WiFi capable and requires an sd card but it works great. It is exactly as described by the sellers. I’m very please with it, it has motion detection, night vision, and a wide angel fisheye lens. The picture is very clear, with 1080 pixels you won’t miss anything. It took me less than 5 minutes to set it up exactly where I wanted it. The very wrong magnet holds it in place . Just be sure to fully charge it and your good to go. Now I can feel a little safer I have the perfect eye witness!
I purchased this to use on my back deck. Our dog has been getting out of his lot while we are not home. He’s a great dog and very smart, but it’s not safe for him to run loose if no one is home. We keep his doors tightly closed at the top and bottom with bungees because he can open them himself. There’s no way he is undoing the bungees. This little camera will hopefully get to the bottom of the problem. It’s small enough to position right at one of my deck lights and no one is going to see it. I was surprised at the weight of the camera. It’s actually pretty heavy for the size so hopefully it will last. Perfect solution. It is also very nicely packaged.
If you need a small, compact HD camera that you can wear on your body (document an event, discreetly), watch your pets/children, cover a doorway (to deter theft or break-ins of residences and parcels), and to augment any, other existing security system devices; this has you covered. The company stands behind what they sell, and I am pleased with the results of this device. It has night vision support and motion detection, along with magnetic mounting options. Five stars and great USB charging to boot!
I have had a problem with someone going through my dest and taking things. Mostly dumb stuff like candy and water drink additives. I work in a food-grade facility so carrying my wallet cell phone and other personal items aren't allowed. The thief decided to up their game and took a $20 bill out of my wallet a few weeks ago. So I was looking for a cheap solution to find who was doing it. This was it! if gave me the proof I need to take it to HR. The problem solved my money back was returned. I love how small and discreet this is It looks like a brick for a cell phone charger so it was really easy to hide.
Camera is sturdy and small, as you'd expect from something labeled "spy camera"; though I wouldn't label it as such. It is blatantly a camera, but works well for a nanny cam you can hide somewhere like between a couple of books, or in a dark corner. Body made of what feels like anodized aluminum, machined around the edges to prevent sharp corners. Two buttons on top, Power and Setting, Bottom has a Micro USB and Micro SD card slot, supporting from 8 to 32 GB, I used a Class 10 Micro SD HC 32 GB SanDisk Ultra Micro USB card. The card slot on the camera leaves a little more to be desired; it has been cut precisely for the card size, but each time I insert the card, I feel that it is scraping away at the plastic on the card. Maybe if the card slot was a little more rounded like the edges of the camera... same with the Micro USB slot.
The camera is not exactly intuitive. You must read the manual first before operating the camera, as there are multiple modes and only two buttons. Once the manual is read, you can run the different settings. The IR on the camera is decent, with a range of about 10 or so feet, not exactly for a larger room, but a bedroom should be just fine.
The motion sensor is okay, as long as the object moving is within the sensor's range (about 10-15 feet). It seems as though light change (going from dark to light, or light to dark) also triggers the camera's motion sensor, which is common among motion cameras.
This camera is labeled "1080p". This does not equal quality. 1080p just means it is displayed at 1920x1080 pixels. This can be an "upscaled" version of a 720, 480, or even 360 (or less)... this seems to have a video quality of about 480p upscaled to 1080p. This is okay if you're not trying to grab minute details about something happening. Picture quality is about the same as the video quality.
Videos run about 32KB/12 seconds, which equals about 145 days of 24/7 recording, which also tells me the video is just upscaled, which isn't bad for the application, just not great overall.
All-in-all, for a small camera, this is pretty decent. I like the compact size of the camera, and the "spy" getup they have on here, where no lights indicates the camera is either powered-off or recording. For ~$35, this isn't a bad buy. If you want to get a nanny cam, or something for a room in your house that you're not always in, this could be good. The biggest downside is that it records to the card, and when the USB is plugged it, it doesn't do anything but charge... it won't turn on or record. That would be why it's mainly a nanny cam... you set it up and when you are done, take it down.
Maybe a good thing to use when ghost hunting? hmmm...
