Great for smaller homes and spaces
November 9, 2018
I purchased the Pure Clean Robot Vacuum (PUCR25) as a supplement to help clean our 2000 sq foot home.
I purchased a Roomba 890 in late 2017 and it has been an amazing vacuum since we have owned it. No issues at all. However, we also paid $500 for it.
Roomba has a lot of "bells and whistles", and the Pure Clean is a lower end, basic robot vacuum. However, it is the only thing I have to compare it to and I thought my experience with both would help someone make a purchasing decision.
I did like how the Pure Clean comes with extra spinning brushes. You get four total. They are labeled "L" and "R" for easy installation. The vacuum is pretty much assembled when you receive it. All you have to do is insert the spinning brushes and put the filter in the top.
I did notice that the vacuum made more noise when it went over carpeted areas. It seemed to run about as long as a Roomba but it took quite awhile to charge. Also, the Pure Clean does make a beeping sound 2 or 3 times before it loses its charge after it has ran awhile. I am glad it beeps to let you know it is about to die because it could be hard finding it in your home if it happened to go into a room under a piece of furniture. It does not have a docking station so you will have to manually plug it in.
When I tested this the first time, I ran the Pure Clean in the living room and kitchen areas. Then a couple of days later I ran the Roomba in the same rooms. I included photos of how much each vacuum picks up. The Roomba picks up much more than the Pure Clean so using it in the kitchen and living room makes more sense as that is where the family and our 1 cat spends the most time. The Pure Clean is a smaller vacuum than the Roomba (which can be a plus!) but the debris chamber and the hole on the bottom where the debris gets sucked up is smaller as well.
After using this vacuum a little over a week, I have come to the conclusion that it would be best to run it in lower traffic areas. In our home that would be our bedroom and the laundry room. Both are smaller rooms too.
In summary, if you have a smaller home, without a lot of animals and children, this robot vacuum may be enough for you. However, if you have pets that shed often and kids that may make a mess, you probably want to purchase a higher end Robot vacuum like a Roomba. I have read some of the other reviews from people who have shedding pets and they say the Pure Clean works really well for them. I may just be spoiled on the Roomba.
It isn't a bad vacuum by any means, but there is a huge difference in it and the Roomba. For the price, it is a great lower end vacuum. It definitely picks things up, just not as much as our other one.
I've ran this vacuum less than 20 times probably. It no longer really holds a charge. I let it charge for 24 hrs and it died in less than 5 mins yesterday.
I was sent a replacement battery by the seller under the warranty. So far the vacuum seems to be running better.
