As a 30 year professional chef ,
Coooking teacher, caterer & mom I use this for everything. I now live at a common with an outdoor kitchen. In inclement weather I use it indoors on a desk and have even made huevos rancheros. The list is endless of the possibilities. I love that everything is on a timer and I can just walk away from it whether it is sauteing pressure cooking steaming or slow cooking.
Make sure you buy one with a non-stick surface. Makes it easy to saute steam or pressure cook and change to another meal item quickly without unnecessary scrubbing. I pressure cook beans, remove them, wipe the pot, then steam rice, remove & saute veggies on the 5 min saute button. Take a shower while the beans are cooking. Prepare a green salad while the rice is cooking & set out the plates and cutlery during the veggie saute. Voila!
