I found this book to be both funny and informative. It gave a realistic view of aging and several excellent suggestions on how to deal with issues that people over 60 (myself included) will find relevant
Barbara and Carol give some powerful and meaningful advice along with some great laughs. It's the only way to grow , how shall I say it.."older" gracefully. Will be keeping it by my bedside to refer to as I head into retirement!
Your soft skin glows, surrounded by a halo of bouncy shiny hair. Gleefully, you pick up your gilded glass. “Mirror, Mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?” Glancing in the reflective surface, you’re startled by the crone-like visage. Forget crow’s feet! This face looks like it’s been trampled on by an angry wildebeest!
Who is this witch? Why is she blocking your view? What? That’s me?
Carol and Barbara shine a helpful, healthy light on aging. Offering a mix of reflections and life experiences sprinkled with excellent advice from medical experts and a strong dose of humor to help the medicine go down, this book reminds one that Mary Poppins’s spoonful of sugar does indeed help the medicine go down.
A must read for people of all ages! Don’t wait until you’re over 60. Enjoy now and laugh while you can!
This is a small but mighty book. It is packed with relevant facts, expert advice and humorous essays about aging. The writers’ candid personal experiences and perspectives on the topic are at times poignant or laugh out loud funny. This book reminds us that the process of aging doesn’t have to be all gloom and doom. Humor, accurate information and expert advice can help us maintain optimal health and accept unwanted changes. I thoroughly enjoyed this book(and the illustrations are hilarious!)
