**TEN+++ STARS** Every song is worthy of a Grammy!!

I discovered this band a month ago when my eclectic music loving husband was downstairs playing some of his favorite bands "VERY" loudly (Steve Taylor/News Boys/Marillion/Spock's Beard, etc.). Yeah, that last name isn't a typo, folks. To say we usually do not share the same taste in music would be putting it mildly. Let's just say, I may have jokingly threatened a time or two to jump out of a moving car when he plays his fav music while driving, in an attempt to show me what I've been missing. Limited to what I have personally dubbed "giggle" radio (the local morning radio station, top 10, which plays the same songs over and over all day/every day), I must confess my enthusiasm for music has dwindled over the years. I'm more of an avid reader nowadays.
Well, I was reading and getting rather frustrated at the vibrating walls, floor, and the music in general. Just when I was about to march out the door and demand he reign it in, my feet felt the vibrations of "Oh, God, Forgive Us"...and that stopped me in my tracks. The music and lyrics were hauntingly beautiful. I sat there listening with my eyes closed to a nameless band and was completely mesmerized. Then "God Only Knows" (song 3) sealed the deal. I was hooked! Our music confrontation/showdown turned into a mutual discovery of a band we both absolutely love. Thanks to Youtube, we watched several of their music videos, including "Little Drummer Boy - Live in Phoenix". Needless to say, I'm not surprised song 2 of this album, "Joy", has just been nominated for a Grammy for best Christian rock song and performance.
I immediately bought "Burn the Ships" and "Run Wild, Live Free, Love Strong" albums from Amazon. Turns out this band's music streams for free as part of Amazon Prime, but I regret nothing. Talent this epic deserves to be recognized/compensated in every possible way, whether that be by shelling out some dinero or free word of mouth. It's time and money well spent, IMHO. The unique, contemporary tempo of their music, and especially the message of love, hope, joy, and forgiveness, appeals to all ages/generations. This album clearly proves this point.
Within a couple of weeks, we've seen them in concert (took 2 of our 5 children) in Charlotte, NC (Little Drummer Boy). Despite buying last minute tickets, which put us in the nosebleed section, it was an EPIC concert, thanks to the "GIANT" Megatron screens and laser light show. Yesterday I bought two tickets to their Franklin, NC - Burn the Ships World Tour 3/9/19. This is really saying something, folks. As a family of seven, three kids in college...one in medical school, rarely do we splurge on entertainment. My only regret is not nabbing tickets earlier, so we would be closer to the stage.
Here's to hoping you'll enjoy this album and band as much as we do!
