NO, NO, NO!!!! You can mess with the Boston Marathon. You can mess with things in Austin and San Antonio, TX or on the East or West Coast. But you CANNOT mess with the public school system - not after all of the issues surrounding the violence lately - and especially not the teachers!!! I am a voracious bibliophile of many of the "New York Times" best selling author's in this genre and even at that, I was totally blindsided by the villain in "AT Every Turn." I did figure it out, but not until I was well into reading the book. Alex didn't figure it out until the last few chapters, either, so I didn't feel so bad. This is a page-turner, from the first page until the last page. Run, don't walk, to the checkout. You won't be sorry. Even if you don't purchase any other book written by John W. Mefford, THIS is the one book you cannot do without!
WOW! I have been with Alex and her family and friends since the very first book in this long series and I know we are nearing the end of this great set of books and I believe this episode, this book, is the best of the lot. I think it is safe to say that John Medford has reached the top of his craft; but then I am always willing to be surprised, especially by a great writer. This is the first time in my many years of reading that I have followed an author from the beginning of his published career. And as I am much older than John, I expect to follow him right through to the end of my reading days. There are two books left in this series, I believe and I await them with baited breath. Anxious to finish Alex's story and anxious also to begin John Mefford's new series. If you love a great thriller, join us now with "At Every Turn", meet Alex and her family, friends and co-workers as they solve the crimes of a serial killer. I purchased this book here on Amazon, although I had received a free copy as an early reader, as I wished to support the author and his future.
This amazing series continues with this latest Alex installment. By now, I feel as if I know the major characters, and the neverending drama of life in the FBI again kept me glued to my Kindle. I'm not going to reiterate the plot; that's been done by plenty of readers already. Potential readers just need to know that this is a gripping story with timely topics involving some surprisingly interwoven subplots. If you've read any of this series, you definitely will want to continue with this next story. Even if you haven't, the timely subject matter will make this a great read (and you'll probably want to catch up with the whole series!). Mr. Mefford is an outstanding new author who will be a winning discovery for anyone not yet familiar with his work. I received an ARC of this book, but have since purchased my own copy in my ongoing support of this series.
To call this book a bang-up, crackerjack, fantabulous, superb, tour-de-force, gangbuster would be doing it, and the author, a disservice.
It’s not often I am at a loss for words, but anything I could possibly say would not come close to just how awesome it is. I literally read this book nonstop, and was ecstatic. The only thing that makes me sad is having to wait for the next novel.
Wow, just WOW, this book was yet another great thriller by John Mefford. This time there is a serial killer that will really baffle you for most of the book. The murders start in Florida but suddenly, either the killer or a copycat is killing much closer to home. There is never any DNA left at the scene and the killer is very precise - good with a knife - and always leaves a rose. As things progress, Alex is pushed to her personal limits yet again when her son and the nanny are dealt some bad hands. Then there is her love life.... Another must read!
Alex, Nick and her team are seeing things at crime scenes they have seen before. What is going on, is this the work of a copycat? If so, they are really good. The Alex's son gets into trouble at school. Wait! What! That never happens! Just when Alex and Brad think they have found the perfect house for them, everything goes to hell! Someone sends Alex a video that leaves her feeling totally alone! There is more, but I won't go into it here. This is the most intense story, in my opinion that John has written in this series! Grab your rosary and tissues.....your going to need them!
Alex has taken some hits but nothing like in this book. Vanessa is really getting to her, Luke is in trouble at junior high school, and she's afraid Brad is cheating on her. The case they are following seems like a serial killer had changed his M.O. by skipping from Florida to Virginia. She is so messed up in her head that she can't see straight. Things are FUBAR. This is the most intense, nerve-wracking book yet and I can't tell you anything without spoiling it for you. Just grab this book. You'll see what I mean.
John W Mefford’s lastest book in his ongoing series is probably the best yet! His characters are so well developed that you feel as if they are family. You worry about them, cry with them, laugh with them. I like so many others read it in one setting. You simply cannot put this series down when you are reading each book. This book, as the rest of them has so many unexpected twists and turns you will never guess who the villain is. What more can I say. This series is a must read. Get it today.
WOW! Each book gets better and better. I hope it never ends. Alex and Nick are trying to solve serial murders. It takes a turn. Looks like it now has to do with the people around Alex who is being targeted. The ending is just heartbreaking. Didn’t want that to happen. How will she ever turn it all around? So hard for her to accept. A must read. Eagerly waiting for the next installment.
In John W. Mefford's latest thriller, the antagonist or antagonists are killing in different states. Are these copycats, or what! There are marvelous twists and turns with lots of suspense that will keep you guessing. Excellent characters get you involved. I don't think you will be able to guess the ending. I think this is the best yet.
