Value a farmer would appreciate

Great deal, great bandanas. Farmers are frugal. At least the ones I know. They're not gonna pay MSRP on a dang bandana, no way, no how. So this multi-pack was cheap as dirt. I've had bandanas that seem to have some poly, non-cotton action going on, which get a little bristly and not as comfy as all cotton over time, but these appear to be the kind that get more soft and comfy as time wears on. I got them for a hot weekend of working outside. I love rolling up ice cubes in the bandanna and tying it around my neck. With 95 degree temps and 105 degree relative humidity when I used mine, it really and truly allowed me to keep going longer in that brutal weather. So be a smart farmer-style shopper if you're in need of simple, quality stuff, and git yerself a package of these here fine bandanas.

Frays apart immediately-terrible

I rinsed one out in the sink to see if the color bled, and it did. So I put them all in the wash separately first. Every single edge of every one of the dozen frayed completely apart. Anyone who ever uses or wears bandannas sweats in them and throws them in the wash. These didn't survive long enough for a first wearing. I should've known better and paid triple for the American-made.

At $1 each (sold by the dozen) these are a good value. The thickness of the material seems "normal" for bandanas. My only reservation (and why I am not giving 5 stars) is that the quality of the sewing around the outside seams is quite poor. I had to trim excess thread off of all 12. Some of them were actually starting to fray along the edges right out of the package. I suspect they will not hold up well over time due to this. Taking a close look at the edge seams reveals that the stitching is simply too close to the edge.

If the edge seams were sewn better, I would rate at 5 stars... but that is sadly not the case. (Bad quality control on that point).

Still for such inexpensive bandanas they are certainly worth a 4 star rating. (Just don't expect long term durability, given they most likely will begin fraying after just a few washings.

For the first few weeks I that I was using one of these I had to carefully wring it out so that it wouldn't drip ink-water on to the rest of my belongings. If you just need party favors these are great for the price. I however am an athlete and wear these things during intense exercise (2+ hours of unicycling a day) to protect myself from the sun and keep sweat out of my eyes, so for someone like me I recommend buying a more expensive item.

Honestly for the price these were great for headbands while working outdoors. Right out of the box grabbed 2 and went to work. The material is a little rough at first but with a few washes does soften up. I had no need to wash them first sinse I wore one in the hot sun all day and it did not leave and ink/dye residue or bleed. If uou want them softer right away pre wash them. They are made in China written on each bandana but fot the price worth it. Stores around me charge 2-3 dollers per bandana for the exact same quality. Material is a little thin which works because it allows my head to breathe. Single sided print but the pattern can be seen on the opposite side.

Our 4th graders in our elementary school goes on a week long trip to a nature reserve. Each adult chaperone is suppose to have a non food gift for each person in their group. My husband wanted these. And the fact they are in school colors was great. They are a good size but they are Very thin and some threads are coming out. I wanted to wash them before he handed them out and they washed ok but I did put them in a delicates bag to wash and dry. I would not wash them without one of those bags. Colors held true and I think the boys will love them. My daughter's girl scout troop is using these too and I did have to stitch hers in the corner but she caught it in a zipper otherwise it's been fine for a couple of months.

The Soophen lime green bandanas are very well made & I am pleased with the quality of the product. This product was shipped from Head Coverings of Lakewood NJ. The blue bandanas, which I reviewed as being so poorly finished, were shipped directly from Soophen in China. I don't know if this makes a difference in the quality of the product, but the difference in quality is very noticeable between the two products.

While I don't dislike this product, I don't want others to get the wrong idea. Yes, they are printed on both sides, but they are VERY THIN. You can see through them. You will want to follow the directions and wash them by hand (they are so thin, they'll probably dry fast, though). I really like them because they are thin, they make a great way to keep my hair pulled back, without being bulky, and they are nice in light to toss a couple in your pack when hiking. They are somewhat fragile because of the thinness, so be careful not to snag them on anything (a good reason to wash them by hand).

Standard Handkerchief: High Value - Serviceable Quality

This is the standard "hanky" you have seen in use for centuries. The cotton softens up and really becomes more absorbent after a washing or two. One gripe is that the edge stitching seems a tiny-bit lacking. I can imagine this will become a weak point in the months/years to come. That said, its a simple one-ply cotton material square and there's not a huge risk of the item coming unwoven with normal wear and tear. Also, they are very reasonably priced so I'm not taking away too many points for value here.

If you want a life-long back pocket companion, I'd get a high-quality american made 100% cotton handkerchief for a few bucks more. That said, I've been carrying one of these in my back pocket daily for six months or so with no issues.
