Infinity War is Incredible but the digital download by Amazon is disappointing.

I absolutely love this movie. It's definitely the darkest of the Marvel movies but still is incredible. The movie is 5 stars

What I am disappointed with and the only reason this is 4 star reviews is my disappointment with getting the digital download with Bonus Content to only find out it does not include the movie commentary audio. One of my favorite things in Special Features on a movie home release is the audio commentary that goes with the movie. I will be very careful from now on in getting the digital version of a movie from Amazon and checking to make sure it has all the same features as other digital downloads would.

European version is releasing September 3rd....wait for that !!

Ok so this is to just sum up the differential pricing scams that are currently being shown, if you decide you can't wait another month for this title to launch legitimately in the United Kingdom then totally ignore what I'm about to say (type) - this version will be launching on September 3rd and will be priced at 19.99 (pound sterling) which is approximately $27-$29 (USD), this will be the blu ray 3d version, and include a 2d blu ray version and potentially either a digital copy or a dvd version, all of this is of importance as this product will be Region Free and therefore play on all blu ray devices in the United States, it usually takes about a week or two to ship from there to the US and the quality is of the same highest standard as I regularly purchase the 4K versions over here and have the 3D versions shipped from there.
I hope this information is allowed to be posted and I hope it assists you with making the choice or decision of which version you wish to purchase.
Thank you for taking the time to acknowledge this information and I hope everyone enjoys the movie, for me personally I avoided watching it in a packed movie theater and look forward to getting both versions (4K and 3D) very shortly at a much more appropriate price.

Waste of time: Dumb villain, too many Avengers, and unfinished story

There are so many problems with this movie it's hard to know where to start. I have seen a lot of the movies in the Marvel cinematic universe including the two previous Avengers, the three Iron Man movies, the first Thor and first Captain America, Spider-Man Homecoming, and both Guardians of the Galaxy, but I still felt kind of lost. The Guardians of the Galaxy don't really mix with the Avengers (a clash of tone), and the CGI villain is just inane. The movie ends on a cliffhanger, but I have no desire to see the sequel. The movies was a waste of talent and a waste of time. Rewatch the first Avengers film instead.

Without writing any spoilers, my main problem with this film isn't even the plot, but how they executed it. By the end there was no punch to it, it felt utterly meaningless. I don't want to speak ill of what was probably the hard work of thousands of people, but unfortunately for me the end result was a film that gave me nothing to hold onto, and what should have had a large emotional component was just meaningless.

Why do I watch Superhero movies? To see them win. I went to see this at the cinema, last year. I sat through a couple hours plus, watching them get their asses kicked, knowing that in the end the heroes would win. When they lost I was pissed. So, some time is passed and we're getting close to the release of Captain Marvel and End Game. I decide to rent Infinity war, and watch it again. Wow. It's still hard to watch. More so than I thought it would be. Just me I guess but I think it's so depressing. Also, The writers failed on some of the basic logic, in my opinion. For example, Thanos has Thor by the head and it looks like he could just crush him. But later, Thor takes on the power of a neutron star and survives. I know it's fiction but it should at least follow some simple logic.

This film was executed well. All of the performances were on their game and the script was done well for what it had to accomplish, but it was just all too much. So many big personalities in single scenes, let alone one film. It's like watching a film with all the characters played by different personalities of Robin Williams. It's just too much to handle. Then there's the spiraling down anxiety from a villain who appears impossible to stop. After having to sit through all of that, you'd expect a good ending as the pay off, but no. You're just built up with all this energy and anxiety and the filmmakers give you no release in the end. My head heart for days and I couldn't sleep after watching this film. It's ten times worse than caffeine before bed.

As I said, it's technically a good film, but I honestly feel like it should have never been made. It's just way to much to handle in two hours. Maybe a TV show would have been better because it would at least give the time of day to digest everything this movie throws at you.

Amazon delivered a high quality rip of the movie with complete subtitles and additional information.

The movie itself however, is visually interesting, but all quality stops there. If you want to watch it for the cinematic splendor and action scenes, you will not be disappointed. If you need some plot to keep you interested, you will be disappointed. Sponges are envious of how many holes this film has. (Spoilers ahead)

The plot of this movie can be summed up as: The quest to prevent Deus Ex Machina from becoming more Deus Ex Machina. The individual stones abilities are so loosely defined, that thanos pulls whatever convenient abilities for every situation out from behind his ear. A completely uncompelling villain. He pursues these stones to supposedly become a god by essentially controlling the fabric of the universe. he could solve literally any problem, and he chooses genocide instead of "more resources". But we'll ignore that flaw for the same reason we ignore the "eagles" problem in lord of the rings. If they did that, there would be no movie.

Characters who literally met for the first time and waste no time in saying "i will sacrifice you and your friend, my number one priority is protecting this stone" literally at the first opportunity forgo protecting their stone to save the person they just met, who they have 0 connection with, and have said multiple times that they are second priority at best. Character actions and motivations pull a 180 with no discernible explanation. You could argue "but after seeing billions of possibilities maybe this was the only way". I fail to see how "giving big bad the thing he wanted" prevents big bad from getting the thing he wanted.

We literally see hand amputation as a displayed ability in act one (one of thanos's minions has their hand severed by a magic portal) at no point is this ever even attempted later. Especially not when plan A is literally trying to pull the gauntlet off of his hand while thanos is restrained by all other characters.

Its a superhero movie, so you have to be ready to suspend your disbelief. but the problems in just sheer storytelling was nearly unbearable. For clarification, I do not dislike superhero movies. they can be good. I just saw captain marvel last weekend, and it was good. This movie is not good.

This review is not for the movie, but for the bluray itself, which is a total joke. The video is not anamorphic but letterboxed! Disney is still living in the 1990s. This is forgivable ten years ago, but not today and I definitely wouldn't want to pay full price given a second chance for this cheap production. It's as if they just did a video grab from a projector.
