I got theses strictly to be a snow boot for when I have to shovel. I wear an 8.5W in most shoes and have a big calf so I got the 9M. They fit great wearing a thick sock and I do have a little bit of room in the heel and my foot doesn't move around in the shoe. The material (I think it's PVC, according to information I saw somewhere) has give so when you stand and your foot spreads out, the shoe spreads out too.
Listen up if you have a large calf- you will NOT have much room in the shaft if you tuck your straight leg or boot cut jeans into it and you will likely feel where your jeans are tucked in. Make sure you tuck your pants legs into your socks *before* putting your boots on. Regardless of foot or calf size you'll need to pull up on the back of the shaft to help your foot into it.
The heel is 3/4" high and is comfortable but the front part where the widest part of your foot is, is a little firm. If you plan to actually walk and wear these all day, you might want to get an insole that's very padded.
No brand name is printed anywhere on these boots and there's no interior tag. The shoes themselves were in a clear bag and that shipped inside a white nonpadded bag, so no shoe box at all. The bag says that they're made in China and printed on the bottom of the boots say "made in China" and the size 9M is a 40/XXL in Asia, I guess, which is printed on it too.
More than a few sellers on Amazon are selling these and I've seen them in half sizes so my advice would be to size up a half size and please don't size down if you're a half size.
Came earlier than expected and in the right size. I usually wear 7-8, but I ordered 7M based on the sizing chart and they fit fine. A bit snug if I wear thicker socks, but not unbearably so. I also have a pretty wide calf, but these are still comfortable.
I saw one other reviewer mention the boots having a chemical odor and said she had to keep them outside, but I ordered them anyway since no other reviews mentioned it. The pair I got did end up having that chemical smell– it hit me as soon as I opened the packaging. I live in a small college dorm, so I thought they might stink up the room, especially since it's still warm out and we don't have AC. But it's been fine, my roommate and my friends don't pick up on it at all. The smell's pretty much gone away after using them in the rain for the first time.
I love these boots! I have wide feet so I was a little worried they wouldn’t fit but they did and I didn’t size up. My only complaint is that the shafts are a little narrow. However, they aren’t at all too small so think they just need to loosen up with wear.
I’ve had these boots for a few weeks now and they are great. I normally wear an 8.5 and based on other reviews (which seemed pretty mixed about sizing) I decided to order my normal size of 8.5. They are about a half size too large though unfortunately which is the only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5. Even when wearing with socks for me they are still a bit big, but not so big that I want to go through the hassle of an exchange. I really like that they only reach up to about mid calf. I’ve even worn them for hiking and just everyday wear because I like the look of them. And of course they keep my feet dry. I would definitely order these again, just in a half size smaller.
These boots look great. They do a great job of keeping the rain out and protecting your feet from the whether. My girlfriend likes how they look.
HOWEVER, these are rain boots, not walking boots. I know a lot of rain boots are fine to walk around in all day. While these are fairly light weight, they can leave blisters in you're wearing them all day. Not sure if anyone else has had this issue, but my girlfriend certainly had this issue when wearing these all day. Great boots, just not an all day wear.
Note: I paid for this and believe it is worth the price even though you might find a more comfortable boot if you are walking all day. No one asked me to do this review.
I honestly haven't worn them in the rain yet, just once when there were a bunch of puddles outside but they definitely didn't let any of that water it and they are also comfortable. Just one random little fact was that they chaffed me a little on my leg because I wasn't wearing pants that went down to my ankles. I'm sure if I was wearing appropriate pants this wouldn't have happened though. Btw incase you need- I'm usually a size 8 1/2 but I bought a size 9 just in case because I like to have a little extra space for socks and they fit perfectly.
These boots fit well, feel good. I bought an 8, usually wear 7 - 8. Plenty of room w/out socks, nice fit with light weight socks. Mostly easy to pull on and off, unless foot is too warm (w/out sock) or if walking for a long time and foot is a bit swollen. Speaking of walking, they feel great. Plenty of width (I have a wider foot), which can be challenging to find in boots. The shaft goes about 3" past my ankle, shaft has plenty of room too. Four stars only because they smelled of petroleum when I received them. Didn't wear them, removed plastic around them, left them outdoors for about 4 days. Smell was mostly gone by then.
