Amazon.com: Customer reviews: CAVN Angle Mount (30 to 55 Degree) Compatible with Ring Video Doorbell Pro, Angle Mount Replacement Adapter Adjustment Mounting Plate Bracket Wedge Corner Kit with Screwdriver and Screws (Black)
I put off buying the Ring Doorbell for a long time because my door is 90° from where my doorbell is hard wired. I thought all I would see is the wall directly in front of the doorbell, not the door or the sidewalk coming up the side of the garage. I am pleased to say that with only the 30° adjustment, I can see the door AND all the sidewalk and into the front yard! Easy to mount and seems very sturdy. Looks great! Cheap and simple solution!
I don't know why these don't mount in standard doorbell switch holes. Most people using these are replacing a doorbell switch with the Ring camera. Why do they insist we drill two more holes? I decided to go the other way and drilled holes in the mount to match my existing doorbell switch holes. No problem and no extra holes in my wall.
Installing this box to the brick wall was the hardest part of installation. Even using a masonry bit, it takes quite a while to make holes in our super hard brick. So, I decided to use Loctite instead and simply "cemented" the box to the brick. After that, installation of my Ring Pro was a piece of cake. The smallest angle turned out to be just right to center the view back onto the porch for optimal coverage. Tightened the top and bottom screws and all is set. Now I need to adjust the angle down a bit and have bought the three little boxes for that. Next mini-project.
Exactly what you would expect, increases the angle from the wall in my case giving me full view of my front yard, perfect. (Pictures of before and after) It lost a star however because it decreases the security of the the physical ring unit. Using the hardware that comes with the ring all mounting screws are concealed behind the ring cover which is secured with a security screw. This mounting bracket has small exposed screws on the top and bottom, (pictures) that if removed allows the entire unit to be taken.
I have the ring doorbell pro. The standard angle adjustment that comes with it was just not enough for my particular situation. I found this kit on Amazon and it was just what I needed. It is very straightforward to install. Took literally just a few minutes. Comparing the video from what I had to what this gave me is night and day. I now can see visitors and delivery people walking up the driveway. I can also see their truck or vehicle. Quite an improvement. I am very happy with this purchase.
Nice product. Turns the Ring doorbelll Pro just enough from facing perpendicular to the entry-way so you can view the entire entry-way. See photo as my doorbell faces south but with this adapter, it turns it enough to view west.
Only concerns are the screws are exposed and can be loosened by anyone with a phillips screwdriver. Also the color is an off-white that doesn't match the white from the ring doorbell cover. Decided to use the black cover instead so it wouldn't be 2 colors of white.
This came in so handy for our Ring product! The wedge that comes with the Ring is not angled enough so we would have seen most of the opposite wall and not the walkway. We used the full 55 degree angle. The view is now perfect. I was hesitant about buying the Ring doorbell but when I found this product I ordered this first, took a look at it and found it would do it exactly what it stated then ordered my Ring product.
Our old doorbell was along the side wall next to our door, this angle mount allowed us to angle the camera towards the walk way and the street allowing the camera to see the guest arriving before they get to our door. Combined with the wide angle of the ring camera, we have a great view of the door and the walkway.
Only con was the hinge construction is a little flimsy. I would prefer to see an strong pin hinge holding the 2 pieces together vs. the plastic knob clip hinge that is easily dislodge when pushed on too hard.
I already have a camera facing my driveway (Yi camera) and this camera was actually extra that I realized I didn't need. If you want to store your videos you need to subscribe to their service which I didn't realize and my other camera doesn't require that. You will get a lot of notices when anything moves on your porch. My Xmas lights move in the wind and that triggers the motion on the RING. Still a good product if this is what you need.
This was perfectly what was needed to solve a couple of issue I had with my Ring Doorbell Pro. First, it obviously solved the area the doorbell was monitoring. More importantly, my bell was close to a wall and nigh motion detection was not working at all (reflective infrareds?). Why opening the angle between the doorbell and the side wall of my porch, this issue was totally solved and the night detection is now fully functional. The quality of the plastic is great and it is fully adjustable at any angle between 30 to 55 (through a positioning screw). This is better than the one sold by Ring itself (or many others) that has only 3 stackable pieces that only give you 3 fixed angle options. The only potential issue I am seeing with this product is the inability to address an angle lower than 30 degrees. Than the stackable approach could help if you need exactly 15 degrees.
