I was hesitant to order a dress I hadn't tried on but the reviews seemed pretty good! I am 5'4 and a size 12/14 and this dress fits great! I ordered a large! The fabric is so soft and I have received a ton of compliments on it!
I had high hopes after getting a Pop Sugar app notification. and reading the Amazo. reviews that this was a great deal. I was really disappointed when I received it. It feels like there is an elastic band at the empire bust position. I’m 5’7” and it drags on the floor. Feels like a flimsy t-shirt. I returned item.
This dress is so comfy. I was really surprised that it is actually long enough. I'm 5'9" 175 lbs and the large hits the floor. It is a bit sheer so you'll need to be mindful of what you wear under it.
That being said, the dress I received does not look like the one in the picture. The gray is a DARK heather gray. I'm super disappointed because I really like the soft, light color in the picture. The darker color makes it look like an old, cheap t-shirt. The sleeves are also different. The dress pictured looks like it has little almost cap sleeves. This dress has regular short sleeves like a t-shirt. I will probably return it.
I’m a tall girl, and 5’10” is not tall, I’m over 6’, so most dresses or clothes in general don’t fit me. Because of my height I tend to order a size up, for that little bit of extra length. The dress hit above my ankle, so make sure you have cute shoes. It’s a thinner material, so it’s a little see through if it has to stretch at all, but I’m small in the chest area so it fit fine. It does poof out awkwardly at the pockets, making your hips look a little funny, but pockets are worth it. I needed a black dress, and this worked. I’m not sure if I’ll wear it again though, the length is kind of annoying.
I am 5’3, and this dress is definitely a little long for me. However, that is usually the case given my short height. I would stick to darker colors, bc it can be a little see through. Also it is a little snug if you have a larger chest, but since the neckline is high, it’s not a big deal. I thought the dress was pretty and very comfy until I washed it. I washed it in cold water, delicate cycle, and air dried. However, it faded some and the fabric pilled quite a bit. So it’s only good until you wash it, and for that reason I think the price is too high.
So i thought this would be great. Other reviews made me think it would be perfect. But let me tell you the negatives first. Im 5'2 size l to xl. I went with a large. So I try it on the top fits well but the bottom is so lose, i look like im a bride. If it stopped at my knees probably wouldnt be so bad but its long enough that if need 6" heals to walk around in it. Its also see threw. I had a white bra on and you can still see it, so definitely hear a tank with it, at least with the white one.
Positives about it. It is soft, reathable and had pockets.
But yeah definitely not wearinging this for family photos. So im just going to tiedye this dress and take off 6" and hopefully it will be perfect for me then.
The dress construction is good, and I like the texture of the fabric--a silky knit that isn't shiny, is thin, but not too thin, and I like the color and pattern (turquoise and orange).
What's made it lose some stars? I have one of the versions with large circle medallions. The placement of the circles is so weird--front and back, I have half of the predominant orange circle running up the sides, not meeting, resembling nothing so much as a wonky stripe. In my family, we have this concept of "worthwhile." This dress, as it is, would be worthwhile at $14. At $24? Not so much.
I might as well add that I'm 5'6", and this dress is waaaay too long. As so many others have found, I'm going to have to jerk some knots in the hem, no time for hemming.
Under any other circumstance, it would be returned, but the dress is a last minute addition to my vacation packing, and I've run slam out of time. >:p ... <--Me, blowing a raspberry.
I was really excited to buy this dress based on the reviews. I am 5'0" and 110 pounds and went with the extra small based on reviews. Most of my fellow shorties said it fit them, so I was hopeful. When I got the dress, it was around 5-6 inches too long. I was pretty disappointed because I'd wanted to wear it for family photos that weekend. But my bigger concern was the smell. It arrived with an overwhelming burnt smell. Strong enough to make me cough! It smells like burnt plastic. I washed it, and the good news is that it shrunk up considerably-- it now perfectly fits my short legs! The bad news is that it still reeks. I've soaked it in Febreze and washed it two more times, and the stink is still there. It worked out for photos, because people can't smell it in a picture, but unfortunately, I can't wear it because the smell is so overwhelming. I'm sure this is a fluke, but be warned! It fits me fine in the chest, but is slightly see-through, so wear a nude bra or a tank top underneath!
The one I got was too big for me, and I decided not to order it in a smaller size for a number of reasons. First, the dress is super long. I'm 5'4" and there was at least 2-3 inches dragging on the floor when I tried it on. I went to take a couple of steps and the dress nearly tripped me. So unless you are a very tall person, this isn't going to end well for you. Secondly, the bust area is snug but rather shapeless, and the waist is loose by comparison, with lots of ruching. I am busty and honestly, it did nothing for me except make me look pregnant. The empire waist had minimal elasticity, so instead of hugging the smallest part of your waist, it just kinda of hung below your breasts. I guess the seam and two different colors should technically give the illusion of an empire waist. But for ME, it just didn't work. I don't think ordering it in a smaller size is going to fix the problem.
Pros: the color is nice and the material is pretty soft. The pockets are great and the size is let true to standard.
Cons: the material is thin. You can see though it in the light. It's not long enough for tall people. I'm 5'11" and it's pretty short on me. The waistline is awkwardly placed and makes me look pregnant, because of the cut. It's not flattering on me in the slightest.
This was pretty much what I expected. Way too long, but was getting it to be shortened. I need a white dress for a vacation picture on the beach so this will do. It fit my upper body fine, but waist down it’s very roomy. Very see through as most white dresses are. I went with another dress that was sleeveless, so this is going back. I’m only 5’2” at 108lbs, to give you an idea of sizing. Most maxi dresses on here are way too long for me anyhow.
