Amazon.com: Customer reviews: Adjustable Angle Mount Compatible Ring Video Doorbell 2 / Ring Wi-Fi Enabled Video Doorbell, QIBOX Bracket Corner Kit/Adjustment Adapter/Mounting Plate/Wedge Kit (For Ring Doorbell 1st & 2nd)
Our doorbell was not only at a right angle to the door, but recessed a bit. The provided angle bracket in the Ring packaging was not enough. I decided to try this out since it was the cheapest angled bracket. It worked PERFECTLY! The fish eye lens still catches the entire front porch and walkway! I took the pics of the product to show that the doorbell does not need to be at a right angle, the 55 degrees works well!
Overall this is a quality product made from tough hard plastic and all the screws line up. The only thing I found annoying was that they did not design this in such a way that you could use the 4 original holes with inserted plastic anchors on brick from the Ring Doorbell standard mounting. This uses two screws + anchors along the centerline of the mounting plate top & bottom. The original Ring screws + anchors are on the 4 corners of the Ring rectangular mounting plate. I avoided drilling another hole in the brick by re-using a hole + anchor from the original plain old button doorbell and mounting this new angle plate down a bit to make use of that hole. It seems they could have easily machined in 4 holes in the corners of this mounting plate.
Other than that, this works really nicely - you do have to test out the adjustable angle at night to make sure you aren’t getting too close to a wall or door jamb which causes the IR LEDs to overglare on that wall.
The angle mount for Ring Doorbell works well. I would have preferred 4 mounting screws instead of just two. That makes me questions as to how easy it might be to just pull it off the wall since the larger size gives a better grip on the unit? I guess if someone wanted my Ring doorbell that bad, they would just bring a pry bar and rip it off the wall.
I was looking for camera/light to add to my house, I bought a Ring. I had poor internet service and it did not function, Rings customer service told me I needed to get a better internet and I was SOL.
After 6 mos. Ring reached back out to me sent me a booster, my camera/light works great. I had a doorbell by SkyBell. It worked great, but I only wanted one app on my phone for home security. I purchased a Ring Doorbell2 and it is working as designed, very pleased.
The color of the mount I ordered said white, and that's what color it is. Problem, that's not the color of the Ring. The photo on Amazon makes it look more of a grey or silver that would match the Ring. It doesn't I will probably wind up ordering the black one in the future since that will look better. I thought a silver color to match the Ring would look better with migh lighter color brick and mortar, but the white just makes it look like it doesn't match anything.
Having vented that frustration, the design is good/sturdy and does a great job rotating the Ring to a useful angle.
I can answer my front door from work. What was even better was finding out that saving events was only 30 a year. Not a month, a year. So if there is motion at my front door, I have recorded video of it. Speed is good. We had a house sitter 2 weeks ago while we were away. She accidentally set off the alarm while she was leaving. I was able to talk to the police at the door, used another camera to look inside, and watch the last motion, resolving the issue from over 5 hours away by car.
I was crossing my fingers that it worked well for the Original Ring... it does! Installation- Very easy to install. It took 20 minutes. Please note- you do have to drill two new holes. But once that is done, everything else is easy peasy. You'll need the tool that came with the Ring to unscrew the bottom holes- FYI. I was happy I still had the original box. Performance- Works just like imagined. It helped our visability a bit more, so I am grateful. For the price, it was a great upgrade.
Just got the package, took about 30mim to assemble (including preparing the tools, drilling, measuring the Voltage of the transformator just to make sure, etc.), mount is a perfect fit, feel free to use with the 1st generation of the Ring.
We bought a Ring doorbell and had to get one of these to go with it. Our doorbell faces sideways and a doorbell camera that was mounted flush wouldn't have picked up anything until the person was right at the door. So this fixes that problem. Problem is...it feels and looks a little cheap. If I ever see a better option, I'll probably replace this thing. So far though, I haven't seen anything else that allows a Ring to be mounted sideways like this.
