Just in time for the Christmas season, Quinn and Glasneck have written another Badge Bunny Mystery filled with the Spirit of the Season-- Death, Porn, Vomit, Exploding diapers... and Elves ----and Really REALLY bad puns. I was sick in bed looking for something light to read for my post Thanksgiving Tryptophan coma. This book had me giggling. It was the perfect antidote to turkey overload.
BJ is trying to make a few extra dollars to beat the legal fees her bar's neighbor, Nicky Stromboli, has forced her to accrue, as he tries to put her out of business by calling the ABC on her every other week. She decides to moonlight as an elf in the mall to make a few extra bucks and suddenly finds herself as "Queen Wintergreen" in a 200 lb glistening, sequined gown recently worn by a dead elven porn star from a polyamorous marriage. As if wearing "death cooties" is not bad enough, she unfortunately finds herself the object of affection of her best friend's brother, whom she loves. Confusing? Not really, when you realize she is into sex without strings and only with uniformed cops. However, there is no sex happening in this novel because she is thwarted at every opportunity.
Furred handcuffs, an evil girlfriend, a near to drowning child, and a rat all have a part in this story of love, porn, death, the dark net. And bitcoin. And cannabis cookies. and a Rottweiler named Twinkles. and Mistletoed Elven feet. (Don't ask). I recommend this book!
What a hoot! This is a great book! What a story line and murder (?) mystery. Death cooties?!! Who would have thought! Loved the beak-up scene between Ashley and Connor when she threw a fit cause he got wet jumping into the river to save a 5 year old's life at the Govenor's reception. Guess it was the final straw. Kay's response to Ashley's untimely attack on BJ at Hooch's bar was good reading. Definitely Stephanie Plum type activity. Highly recommend this book! What will happen between BJ and Connor? Great Story telling! Can't wait for book 4 listed at the end of book 3. More Please!
Tina Glasneck and Fiona Quinn are back, once again, with the latest saga of BJ and Kay. The third book of the series continues as a murder mystery combined with bawdy humor. BJ is supplementing her income by working as Snowflake, an elf at the Winter Palace at the mall. When the queen is found dead, BJ steps into her shoes (and creepy gown) and learns of the extracurricular, after hours activities of the rest of the crew. This book is full of light-hearted fun with a touch of mystery. Great job!
Another funny Badge Bunny adventure. A 4.8 rating. I've read them all and look forward to reading more. These two authors must be having fun writing these amusing characters and story. Keep those stories coming.
Oh my gosh, this one is outrageously funny. How BJ finds herself in this predicament is unbelievable. And I am not talking about finding the job. I am talking about what she finds after she starts working her second job as an elf. Then a queen. Oh my my.
