Works, confusing multiple keyboard directions, qwerty keyboard, bluetooth
December 12, 2017
The AgptEk keyboard case fits the Fire He 8 2017 very well. The outside cover has a slick plastic feel so I don't know how long it will hold up. Plastic like this always develop cracks in it where it folds back so who knows how long it will last. The tablet snaps into a hard plastic cradle. I tried shaking it out, but it stayed in place. The keyboard does not have a cradle or pocket. It is held in place by a magnet. The keyboard DOES shake loose and there is nothing that will stop it from falling out of the top of bottom of the case when it is closed other than the magnet. The keyboard has to be charged before you use it the first time. It comes with a manual that has very small print (with poor English grammar translation) and a micro usb charging cable. A red charge light comes on when it is charging. According to the manual which goes with different models, the red light will either turn off or turn green when charged. There is a sliding on/off switch next to the connect switch andthe power, charging, bluetooth, and caps lock lights which are located onthe upper right of the keyboard. The manual says there is a power switch to turn on, but I don't have one because of the connect button. The manual has instructions on pairing with iOS, android, windows devices also, but I don't know if they work. The keyboard has a backlight. Press once for light, press again for more light, and press again to turn off. Mine doesn't have a button so I guess mine doesn't have a backlit keyboards. I hate directions like this. When the battery is 20% or less the battery turns off. Standby time says 100 hours. Manual says touch pad but there isn't one. The manual says it is for 24 different keyboards, but the model number of my keyboard is not listed on the keyboard. If you move the keyboard down to the bottom as far as you can go (on the actual closing flap/magnet) then the tablet will stand up for easy viewing if on a flat surface. Good for airline tray tables, maybe. I started with 3 stars and went up and down until the end. You must translate the poorly written English directions and decide for yourself which keyboard you have...so it has earned 2 stars. I will edit later if it holds up to normal use or does not. I will use it for a month before I store it so I can review it more later. Normally, it will only be used when traveling.
