I was terribly disappointed to discover that the multiple-monitor mode only works ...
April 11, 2018
As a long-time user of Quickbooks, I purchased the latest version because my 2015 version would soon be unsupported. The one new feature that I eagerly looked forward to was multiple-monitor support. Having used two monitors for over ten years with no issues through a succession of Windows versions, I was terribly disappointed to discover that the multiple-monitor mode only works if the monitors are set at 100% scaling. Nowhere in the product details at the Quickbooks website is this information revealed.
With large monitors it is almost a necessity to consider using larger icons and fonts. I simply scale my monitors at 125% and every thing I do and every application I use works perfectly ... except Quickbooks 2018. If I want to use this new feature, I have to reset the monitors to 100%, close all running programs, log off and log back on, and suffer through significantly less readable fonts sizes. Of course, I have to reverse the process when I am done using multiple monitors in Quickbooks. As a long-time IT consultant to small businesses, I can say that Inuit should have made this feature work with a simple Windows display setting like scaling that seemingly has posed no issues for other software vendors.
Just be aware that this is a problem that Intuit should have been able to solve and at the very least should disclose prominently in their product literature and on their product boxes. If you need to scale your monitors above 100%, you will not be able to use this feature.
