I have been using Greenies for several years. Our baby will not go to bed until she gets her nightly treat. She's had to go under twice - once for teeth cleaning. We almost lost her both times. I have tried everything on the market. Between her daily nightly Greenie and her daily teeth cleaning, Veterinarian sees no need for her to have her teeth professionally cleaned. Along with the Greenie, we use another product which is a Q-Tip which has a special cleaner for dogs and cats teeth. She just celebrated her 10th Birthday. Veterinarian says she has no problem with plaque and her gums are very healthy. Greenies can be a bit pricey, but they are worth every cent! ( We are also very careful of what treats she receives and very rarely, does she receive table food unless we've specially prepared it for her with no seasonings)
We normally purchase the original flavor for our pooch. However, when I saw the variety pack, I decided to try it out. Our dog loves his treats and this is a treat with a purpose (fresh breath).
In the future, we'll probably only pick a flavor at a time. Our dog didn't seem to like when one flavor would run out and we would switch to the next, but it got used to it. If you have a finicky dog, keep this in mind when purchasing.
I admit that it was nice having a selection and being able to offer our dog more variety in his eating/snacking. If I purchase the variety pack again, we'll probably open all 3 so our dog doesn't get used to one flavor at a time and observe how he responds.
Also, for the price, it was very affordable (in the long run) and we're on a last bag now. We don't give them to him every day--every other day or so--but it's still good to feel that you're getting more bang for your buck. And, it is definitely less costly than purchasing at the local pet store.
I have two small dogs who have a tendency to have really funky teeth and breath. One just had a full dental cleaning under sedation and I wanted to try to keep her teeth as clean as possible going forward. So far, so good. It’s really too soon to tell how effective they will be. But my dogs love them and I give them one every day per the instructions. Typically these are pretty pricy in the store but they were on sale so I decided to try them. Hopefully I can continue to find these on amazon for a good price. They are approved by the veterinary oral health council to reduce plaque and tartar when given daily so I hope they do so in the long term. Either way the dogs think they’re awesome so they certainly would never go to waste. They do give one of my dogs a little gas but to be fair everything gives him gas.
My dog is so funny she pretends to go potty outside for a greenie treat. She’ll do anything to get one. I break them up in three pieces since she’s so tiny. She’s a multipoo and maybe weighs 9lbs I get the small size. She will go in the pantry and stand on her toes just to smell them. She’s 8 yrs old and this is the only thing she will dance and do circles for. And with the verity pack hello blueberry smells so good I’d eat them. Every time I open my pantry I smell blueberries an want pancakes lol. Highly recommend!
I give my two little dogs one greenie a day so this box is a great deal! I am so happy I am able to stock up. My older chi/yorkie mix had her teeth cleaned two years ago, and with one a day since then, the vet has been impressed at how clean her teeth are. Effectiveness aside, I don’t know what these taste like, but it’s like crack for them. They are totally obsessed. The blueberry ones are the best smelling ones, and I love getting kisses right after they eat one. Will definitely buy again. 💜
Dog loves these. He’s on a 2-a-day schedule and he runs to his spot every morning and evening to get his greenies! I love the variety pack, it makes me feel like I’m not boring him with the same flavors over and over (not that he’d care, I’m sure.) I love the large box so I’m not constantly buying them every time I turn around. They come in 3 bags so they all stay fresh!
He gets good marks and comments on his vet visits and I have no complaints about his breath! So, with that said I’d assume it’s working!
According to my dog, who is very picky, Greenies are among very few snacks that a dog with a sense of dignity would actually eat daily, even when not starving. From my observations, they might be also good for the dog's teeth. My dog has had a greenie or two every day for the past 10 years, and his teeth are still white and healthy despite his respectable age. Although it's a pricey snack, it may be actually worth it.
My mini schnauzer is worth the price of the Greenies, I used to give him one a day in the afternoon. I keep them in a clear air tight container on my end table. When I sit on the sofa in the morning, he jumps into my lap, he'll look at the container then looks at me, I ask him what he wants, he'll look at the container - then back at me and make a sound, I can ask him to perform any trick, he gets excited and performs several tricks.
