4.0 out of 5 starsVery Comfortable and Cool Design. But Not Worth $15.

These socks feel like butter! Cool design and are very comfortable to run in. Not sure how the antimicrobial feature comes into play yet. Technically they aren't "no show" since the heel blister guard sticks out of the back. For the most part I really like them. 4 stars because they definitely are not worth $15, maybe $10. Maybe.
Edited to add that these socks sprung holes in them after only about 4 months of light usage.... These socks are very comfortable and fit very well but the antimicrobial properties seem to be nonexistent as odor was no less than any other regular sock I have had. This was the main property I was looking forward to so a big disappointment.
I typically wear a few of the other brands of running socks, but decided to try these. I bought two pair and I have to say that they are outstanding. I've had them for about a month now and run, walk or bike most everyday. I haven't seen any issues, threading coming loose, or shrinking with wash. When walking or running in them, they help provide a little extra padded bounce in my step, and I'm going to order a few more pair. I've even caught my wife wearing them around the house.
If you aren't using running socks yet, you must buy these! I was introduced to these many years ago at a local running shoe store and will never go back to wearing other socks. These are comfortable, give extra padding and arch support and wick sweat off your feet, keeping them clean and dry. My feet are never smelly and I never get blisters or corns. They change the running experience completely! Buy these socks!
Several great colors to chose from. I use these thicker Balega Silver for my wider Brooks Levitate running/elliptical shoes and I save the thinner Balega Enduro for my Brooks Pure Flow 7. They appear to last long (looking/feeling almost like new after 6 months) but I tend to change my socks every 3-6 months when I buy new pairs of shoes since I run hard and wear out my shoes (and presumably my socks).
These are the best, most comfortable socks ever. I love how they cradle and lightly grip my arch and the cushioning is just enough that it adds comfort without making them too bulky. They also do a great job wicking moisture and they stay in place wonderfully. i can't stand when socks slide down on my heel. Although the price is on the high side, I find these socks last longer, and hold up much better, than cheaper brands that I have tried. I would rather spend a little more and have the socks be durable and comfortable.
Some folks seem to have trouble with sweaty feet, which can lead to funky odors, (bromodrosis (sp?) or whatever it's called -- FZ calls it stinkfoot). These socks have really helped. They're super comfy for workouts, and unlike other padded half-socks, they vastly reduce the chance of one's poor, tired dogs running co-workers or the spousal-unit clean out 'the building! They continue to work very well after repeated laundering too, and have done so now for months, which is fantastic. For anyone with (or hoping to avoid) this embarrassing problem, they're totally worth the cost, especially for those that like to get in some exercise during lunch/dinner breaks at work, without the facilities or time for a shower. Grab a pair for every day of the week! :-)
My mom is an avid runner and swears by Balega. I had been searching for running socks and honestly thought why not try them out? I ordered but then read the reviews after and was concerned BUT those concerns were laid to rest pretty fast.
I wear a size 8 in women’s and purchased a size small. They fit perfectly. I always have an issue with socks bunching up at the ankles because they make them to fit a size 6-11 like why? And yes there are a lot of threads on the inside notes by another reviewer but they’re not anything you even notice when you’re walking let alone running. They don’t fall and the compression is barely noticeable.
I will be buying these for running and daily wear going forward.
I have several pairs of Balega socks. I actually bought these for my wife, but I personally have experience with them. They are my favorite socks. I have thrown out all my other poorly fitting athletic socks and buy these and the hidden comfort ones and that is it when it comes to running, cycling, etc. Buy these socks. They may look expensive, but they last a long time and they are high quality.
I am new runner and took getting the right items for my feet seriously. So I went to aa local Dallas running store (Run Fit) to get properly sized for running shoes (I measure a 8.5B but got a 9.5D in Brooks Adrenaline 20, and, NB 860v10 so my feet can have room to splay as I run and they both work great!). I followed the sizing chart for my foot size and purchased a medium, which feels/fit as expected.
I went with Balega socks because of their reviews and recommendations from other runners. I love these Balega Silver socks! I bought a set of 2 pairs in many colors (see the pics), and I own about 12 pairs now so I can have ore than enough to change out as I run 4-5 times/week.
When comparing to other socks, the price of these are manageable (I saw some $25 wool socks and decided to pass for now). Ultimately, these socks proved their weight in gold when running in humid , June/July, 95+ degree Texas temperatures, and I will gladly purchase again!
---------------- UPDATE --------------
After wearing these socks for 2-3 months, most colors are holding up well -except- the orange ones. The orange threads are tearing at the below the inside ankle for some reason. I am not experiencing this with the other colors. I hope this helps.
I must admit that as a late 40ish woman, I go for comfort a lot more than style. However, these socks are not only comfortable but BUH-BANG stylish.
I started seriously working out last year and found that socks and supportive shoes were the most important workout accessories.. I’ve searched high and low for the right combinations and these socks are easily in the top 5 I’ve tried for walking and running.
Cushioned soles but close fitted arches provide unbelievable lift and support power when walking or running. Additionally, I found that these socks were breathable and reduced sweating for long workouts.
Socks are expensive but worth it. Love that the socks come in sizes and not one-size-fits all. I have size 4.5 feet and the small fit perfectly. It is snug enough so that it doesn't bunch up in my shoes. I've been having blisters with all the other socks I've been using and I thought it was my shoe. I decided to give this sock try and I can't believe I don't have blisters. It wasn't my shoe. The material is thick, well made and with quality stitching. I ended up buying 3 more pairs. I've been using it for walking on my treadmill. Recommend.
