Too much smoke and no fire. Lots of "effects" but a terrible script and "comic book like direction"--that didn't work. BC is his usual intense self--sans British accent. (I think he needs that accent.) Other supporting characters are also not given much time or direction to develop. Consequently you don't connect with anyone in the movie. And...the "effects" reminiscent of Leonardo DiCaprio's film, "Inception" (a much better movie) are so overwhelming and over complicated you can hardly see what there is to appreciate for all the film's efforts in this area. Not a great watch. I fell asleep.
Mediocre at best. It is a frankenstein monster compiled from bits and pieces of the Matrix, Independence Day, Inception, a kaleidoscopic (literally) CGI, etc. I did not grow up on Marvel comics. But I enjoy a good theatrical rendition. This is not one. Worth the rental fee? Sure. Worth $20? Definitely not. I am not looking forward to the sequel.
