Ok, so I'm posting this review pretty much immediately after receiving them so I have NOT used them yet...but, I am a regular user of ankle straps and have purchased several of my own from fitmiss and dark iron fitness. I use straps at least twice a week for kick backs. I purchased these beauties because the Velcro on my old ones wears out and starts snapping off in the middle of my set ugh! Right out of the package I'm in love with these gray camo print straps and they appear to be of very nice quality and well made. They fit my skinny ankles too! Again, I'm basing this purely on touching and looking at them but if my review changes, I will update accordingly. **update: used them today and they are very comfortable and didn't slide around like some straps I've owned. Love them. **another update 4/20/18...welp, it's been nearly a year since purchase and these babies are still going strong and still look good. I use them no less than twice a week and they work like new. So happy with this purchase
I am always nervous about ordering things online especially things with Velcro. The Velcro is strong. So when I go up in weight when working out I don’t worry about it wearing down. The stitching is also strong so I don’t see the Velcro lifting anytime soon. Even though they are extremely light the material used for the ankle wrap is very strong and doesn’t make my ankles feel any added resistance. There is no rubbing or chaffing along the seams. And I had made body builders a bit jealous of them. Color is vibrant definitely a wonderful buy. And their customer service is amazing. The quality of this product is so good that I am about to go see what other equipment they offer.
Story time! It was leg day— my workout called for lying leg curls. I was in my apartment complex gym and made my way to the Smith machine, the community ankle straps were looking a bit rough but it was the last work out of the day so I strapped the frayed Velcro around my ankles. The second set in the Velcro ripped away from the strap (*NOT THIS PRODUCT *), the weights came crashing down and I damn near kicked myself in the back of the head! Super embarrassed I immediately left the crowded gym *mortified* and hopped on Amazon to order my own ankle straps. Though I think any brand would have been better than what my gym had to offer I really like my DMoose ankle straps! I bring them with me to every leg day even though my gym has since replaced the community ankle straps. I got the teal option with the matching gloves. The ankle straps are sold as singles or pairs. I would suggest the pairs to avoid having to take them on and off when switching legs, however, they are super easy to strap on and off so a single would work fine if you’re trying to save money. They are very sturdy and I have very small ankles and the tightest setting is perfect for my little chicken ankles!
Read my other review - not a 5 often if at all!! 1. The material is sturdy, strong and WELL stitched together - others come apart where sewn - poor materials, handwork 2. The material is comfortable - the liner feels good against the skin, even my skin that is allergic to some materials had no issue 3. The Double Ring with triple stitching is a key to keeping the ankle (used on wrist too) closed and connect to pull restraint. I have Amazon prime. The weight cuffs came a day early, and were packaged well for shipping but with needing a machete for me to open... whew. This is the set to buy for wrist of ankles... I wish the buyer would have offered a set of 4 with a light discount - I would have jumped to buy now - you should take the deal.
I'm finally reviewing this item. I like to give a product at least a month of use before writing my opinion. The straps are think and sturdy. The size is perfect and can be easily adjusted with the Velcro strap. The metal rings are heavy duty. I closely investigated the stitching and see no signs of unraveling. I feel confident in the gym doing my cable kick backs and even though I use at most 15 pounds of weight, I am certain they could handle more. The price was good and it came with two straps, which is great because some only come with one.
I love this brand of ankle straps. They are very sturdy and they are comfortable which is more than I can ask for. Very good product and I am even considering getting a few for friends as gifts. I think my sister will enjoy working out with these. I love that they are sold in pairs instead of a single. I had another well known brand that was only sold as a single and was much more expensive but didn't last me very long. I can wear a DMoose Ankle Strap on both ankles and not have to concern myself with taking a single strap off to put it on the other ankle each time I alternate legs.
These are a game changer! I was hesistent to buy these because my gym already has the straps that go over your shoes so I would just be buying these because they're cute. I ended up getting them because 1) It can be hard to find the straps at the gym 2) The gym ones had the strangest places to connect the cable to and the clips would bruise my ankles. From the first use these things were amazing. They change where you're pulling the weight from and target they glutes waaay more! I couldn't believe the difference they make. I also like that they are for personal use because I'm a germaphobe. They are great quality and very sturdy! I'm beyond happy with these!
I got mine in the grey camo. If anyone is worried about the color because the pictures make it look like there is a weird mustard yellow color in the camo, there's not. They are definitely grey and super cute!
I love the design of this ankle strap, which has a D-ring on each end, so the velcro never has to bear the load. The velcro is only there to keep the strap from falling off, when the strap is unloaded. So with this strap, you will never have the velcro coming loose and dropping your weights, which was happening to me quite frequently with my prior single D-ring strap. This strap is also more comfortable, than the single D-ring strap, and very well made. I only wish I’d known about this strap long ago, as it’s a huge improvement over the one it replaced.
Got these for use with a Bowflex cable machine. You get two instead of one like other ankle straps. They have very heavy D rings, one on each end of the strap. They are very comfortable and a million times better than using the Bowflex multi use straps. The Velcro strap passes thru one D ring to fasten. My only beef with the design is it would be nice to have a double-back cinch type buckle so you could get them a bit tighter. Due the double D rings, the Velcro doesn't carry any load. With the Bowflex, you really need about a 12" extension strap to keep from doing a balancing act getting clipped in. I've tried clipping in with weight set and clipping in then connecting the rods. Either way is a bit tricky. Since you get two, it saves a little time since you don't have to swap legs, plus with you can use them to protect the back side of your Achilles' tendon when you're doing seated hamstring curls.
I purchased these to use with my Bowflex at home. I didn't like the hand / feet combo grips that comes with the Bowflex. I've only used these DMoose straps one workout day for a few different exercises, but I was impressed with them. When I first unpackaged them I was a bit skeptical with the lack of cushioning that the strap had, but when I used it I understood why it wasn't overly cushioned. If it was "too soft" it wouldn't give any support. It has enough width and padding to not dig in your ankle. I like the "Grey Camo" color I received. I would recommend them to other people was well.
