Solved a problem for keeping a diesel RV's batteries topped off while the coach was in storage
Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2019
I put this on a Winnebago diesel pusher that did not have the factory installed trickle-charging device. Unlike many battery chargers that you have to closely monitor to avoid overcharging and damaging the batteries, these chargers are perfectly suited for maintaining the batteries in a stored vehicle. They are designed so that you can leave them attached when it is time to operate the coach. All you do is unplug the unit from the 110 VAC outlet and then remove and stow the power cord until you get ready to put the coach back into storage. After three months in storage, the two engine batteries were perfectly charged. A separate unit on the two house batteries also kept them charged without any boiling out of the acid/water. Solved a big problem and protects the batteries from damage by regular chargers and avoids dead batteries from parasitic drains while in storage.
