I got the 720p 500gb 4 camera wireless set. I was worried it would be a pile of crap, but it's actually pretty great, especially for only $130! Image quality is good. Nightvision is good. I feel no need for a 1080 or 4k camera system. These get the job one. The NVR box and cameras are made of metal so it doesn't feel cheap at all. The mobile app works great for remote view. (you have to port forward if you want to allow access from anywhere) You can record clips to your phone while the NVR is continuously recording. (Blink connot) I attached screen shots from my phone. Also I recommend you get some 2.1mm x 5mm extension power cables for the cameras if you have outlets that are more than 2-3 feet away. I got the Camview 5M(16.5ft) cables.
The one gripe I have with it is the giant ethernet input on the cameras that were too big to fit in the holes I drilled to so they're sticking on the outside with the camera. I might have to drill the holes bigger to hide them, which I don't want to do.
Overall I'm glad I went with this instead of the battery powered Blink XT which is $130 just for 1 camera and no local storage, which was a deal breaker for me. I will update this review over time.
I noticed the playback was deleted or cancelled for hours between 1am and 5am so I went outside and looked and sure enough there are three little indentations in the ground which indicate a drone landed there overnight. Either the drone disabled the cameras by aiming something into them or a device at neighbor's did it, but this is not the first instance of cameras being disabled. When they want to do something on your property they simply shut them off so you cannot see the activity and be tipped off. You need cameras that are inside your house that are simple and hardwired with a battery back up to see what's going on.
But the cameras getting disabled is not the fault of the cameras. Actually this is a great deal. Someone is installing diodes in the ground all around my house and I see the holes in the ground the drone makes. That's where your getting the buzz from. The diodes connect to satellites which radio the signal down, etc. and you get severely radioed. I would give this product five stars if it had better instructions. I actually did not know they had devices where you could plug a mouse into them and a keyboard would prompt up so I was lost at first. Then I looked at the page on Amazon advertised this product and saw it had to be plugged in to mouse, etc.. I just plugged everything in to where it goes and presto it worked. Great views of the yard and my shed which has the valuables, the concrete, concrete mixer, lawn mowers, etc.. The instructions skip from plugging it in to entering information and do not cover exactly what plugs to where. I thought at first you had to plug it in to a pc but you don't. Overall I would say this is a great value for such a low price. Today I had to take the camera down at the edge of the shed and clean the water out of the lens by removing the front lens cover. We had quite a storm with hail yesterday and I had a cover ceiling I made on top of camera but no sides on it yet. The result from sideways blowing rain was a white blurred image on the cam with no visibility to make out anything. I took it down and took the front cover off easily and removed the moisture from inside the lens cover. It is not entirely waterproof so give it some shelter.
The 4 cameras included are amazing quality sturdy full heavy metal real 1.2 mpx beyond 720p they are well worth 35 each with the 60ft cables, i returned it because the cameras are no match for the dvr i tested them with different dvrs, this dvr doesnt syncronise the 4 videos playing and video quality didnt seen to be 720p. Great deal if you need to upgrade or replace cameras!!
This was so simple install and it has been perfect for me to keep an eye on my yard which my dogs are in. We just love this security system. We’re gonna order another soon. I’m a very happy person thank you 😊
