Good on "group dynamics" stuff
February 10, 2018
Doesn't get carried away with the "heros save the country" stuff that some post-apocalypse books do. Good on "group dynamics" stuff. I liked the story-telling sessions where folks were able to figure out what happened around the country. Some of the nitty-gritty got glossed over, like how childbirth might such in such a scenario, or handling diseases. Yes the "we're not a militia" group had doctors but did they have supplies? No diabetics in the group? And what was their growing season? How long did they actually have for growing crops in their area? I've lived in MN and short-season seeds and growing techniques are very different from other areas of the country. A few typos here and there, but not bad. So yeah, minor quibbles on details like that. Also, it seemed like they really got extremely lucky with pretty much everything going just right. (Yes, I know a couple things didn't, but overall...)
Overall, I really liked the social/relationship dynamics - not the same old, same old. Nice to see a different take on things. Thanks for writing it and sharing it with us. Looking forward to future books.
