Why do these shoes CRACK so easily? WARNING...
July 16, 2019
Never had trouble wearing shoes, even with my very high arches before getting plantar fasciitis in January, 2017. Since then, the fasciitis has spread throughout my body due to myofascial injury, now makinga good supportive shoe with great arch support a necessity!
Though I LOVE the support of this sandal, for some strange reason, the footbed does not had adequate flexibility; thus, when you squat down to pick something up, or to pet your dogs, or to sit on the floor, the stress of bending the foot at the ball causes the shoe bed to crack, destroying the support your foot once had!
The first time, this happened, I thought it was a fluke! Maybe a defective pair. However, after two MORE pairs cracked in the same place with no more wear than around my house, as the myofascial issues have made me homebound,. These shoes are NOT being worn pounding pavement, or by a person who is really active.
Yesterday, I made two efforts to contact Vionic, but it's difficult to get a human. However, this information needs an ear at the manufacturer, so they can address what I believe to be a design flaw with a material that is too hard for people to bend their feet adequately for full range of motion in the feet.
Anyone else who has very high arches, like those of a ballerina, please share other brands you like! I am on a serious hunt for shoes that stand full range of motion like squating or sitting on the floor without the shoe cracking as these have.
Good luck to all others who have these! Hopefully, Vionic will make some corrections to materials used in this footbed.
