I was excited to get this due to the overwhelming great reviews... but the sound quality when connected via Aux is TERRIBLE!!! To make sure it wasn’t just my car... I tried other devices and just a simple aux to phone connection... sound was fine! But not with this device. I loved everything about it, like how I can pause, skip songs without using my phone... but it’s not worth it when the sound quality sucks. I’ll be looking to return this item.
I mean this thing works. It sends an FM signal to your car's radio to broadcast stuff you send to this device such as all the audio from your phone. It works, despite the sound quality not being very good and it's pretty quiet by default so you have to crank up your radio volume (becomes an annoyance when you switch back to listening to the radio). There is also quite a bit of static no matter which FM frequency you choose.
But that's not even the deal breaker. The deal breaker is this unit is PERSISTENTLY ON even after your car is turned off, which becomes a huge problem because this means it will constantly drain your car battery if you just let it plugged in over night, no matter how little electricity this uses. So I had to keep plugging and unplugging it EVERYTIME I get out of my car...... and while the inconvenience is one thing, it creates another problem, which is leaving your lighter socket very vulnerable. This is especially true when you use this thing for charging your phone, so your USB cable will also stays connect to this device and it will be hanging loose near the lighter socket when you plug it in and out constantly, and so after a lot of fumbling and plugging and unplugging, eventually there will be a time where the other end of your USB cable (or any metal to be honest, including coins) may end up in the car lighter socket by accident while you ignite your car, which will literally short circuit your lighter socket. This happened to me... and now I have to get that fixed too. Totally horrible experience. Would not recommend this at all.
Bought this for a road trip. The bluetooth mic didnt work very well for phone calls...but i was really interested in that and the FM transmitter which worked great at first....and then on the road after several hours it got REALLY static-y. On the way back the charging port stopped working well This pretty much was a waste of money.
Id look elsewhere for a more worthwhile purchase - perhaps the newer version is better?
Full disclosure, I returned this item because it worked so poorly. It connected to my phone but the sound quality and volume control were terrible. I heard more static than music and the station it was connected to would jump in and out. I tried multiple stations to see if there was a difference. There static was equally bad on all stations. The volume was just as bad. I had to crank up the volume way higher than normal just to hear at a normal volume. Perhaps I got a defective unit, but I did not want to waste my time and money on an exchange. I have had multiple FM transmitters over the years. None of them have been great but this one was the worst.
Don’t. I it or waste your time on it, this is a price of cheap electronic that will waste your time for you if you have nothing to do, I try many different channel from 88.7 to over 100, and it’s still not working good sometimes the radio overcome the Bluetooth when I was listening to the song from my iPhone then back on the song which mean I’m listening to the song from my phone and the radio at the same Time. This is “funny”. I don’t recommend it at all.
UPDATE: the sellers said they would send me a new one but they never did... it's been about 2 months now going on 3 since they contacted me. You hear static, sometimes it pairs right away but a lot of the time it takes a little while and then sometimes not at all. You still hear static in the background, after calls a lot of time time it un-pairs and I have to turn off the car n turn it back on again when ever I get the chance at a red light for it to pair again. The call sound quality is horrible. People on the other side have let me know I sound really far away. Would not buy again. It can be a hassle.
Saw this and needed it for my minicooper 06. I was surprised by how well it works. There are a couple of issues though. I have to jam it in to plug it in all the way and then if i dont hold down the cig outlet or whatever its called when i try to take it out it comes out with it. I also hear slight static, it goes to the rythem of the engine n the speed, if that makes any sense. Also sometimes to connect to bluetooth it struggles n i have to try it a few times before it is paired. But i mean it works, very easy to use
I've had this product for over 6 months now and at first, i really enjoyed the product for its bluetooth capabilities and usb car charger.
However, in the past two months, i've noticed that my product continually disconnects after 10 or so minutes from my bluetooth on my iphone. I've had the iphone 6s, 7, and 8 all connected to the product at separate times and they've all continually disconnected every 10 minutes. I can't even get a full music session on my commute to work without it disconnecting.
Also, I have this strange squeaky "eeeeeeeee" noise coming from my speakers whenever I'm connected to transmitter that tends to get annoying as well.
Overall, not happy with the product. I'll be looking elsewhere for another FM transmitter in the market.
Didn’t even last 6 months before it started to disconnect. Now I’ll hear “waiting for pairing” randomly in the middle of a podcast. When it worked, it was great. I loved the ease of playing music and podcasts in my car. But now, I cannot recomend it with it disconnecting as often as it does.
When it works, it sounds great. However, it will intermittently attempt to connect and never establish a connection. When it starts happening, it refuses to establish a connection for about a couple of weeks anytime I'm in my car, then it just starts working again for a couple of weeks. This random cycle makes the transmitter useless because it seems to always stop working right about the time I'm going to be in the car for a few hours and plan on using it for audio books. Instead, I have to spend hours flipping through bad radio stations like it's 1986.
I troubleshooted the issue for a couple of months to no avail. My phone doesn't have this problem with any other device it connects to through bluetooth, and every phone I've tried had the same issue. It's definitely the transmitter, but I have no idea what causes it to stop working.
I would give it 2 or 3 stars based on sound quality alone, but the fact that I can't count on it to work more than half of the time forces me to give it 1 star.
Instead of getting a "Nulaxy," I received an ugly unit simply called "Car MP3" that looks nothing like the product photo. It's very cheap and easily breakable. Makes a loud buzzing noise between songs. Bluetooth doesn't work. Has a really cheap-looking and -feeling remote control that also doesn't work. One of the worst purchases I've ever made from Amazon. Now I have to go through the hassle of returning it. Very dissatisfied.
