I could not nurse without this product. I particularly like this product because it's not as thick and sticky as pure lanolin and it's easy to apply. I keep at least two spare tubes on hand at all times. I've been committed to nursing and have been nursing my son for 2 years. Nursing can be uncomfortable, painful and annoying, but also nurturing, bonding, loving. This product helps me get through the negative physical aspects of nursing so we can have the positive benefits. I use it several times a day.
This is the nipple cream I was given at the hospital in tiny tubes to sample and I bought them as soon as I ran out! It is thick enough to feel like it's working and to be nourishing, but not so thick that it feels gross on your hands/nipples. Highly recommend to breastfeeding mamas!
I can not live without this product. They aren't just for nipples!. Yes I used this when I breastfead and they are so needed to keep nipple supple especially the first few weeks. But after I discovered other uses for it: chapped lips, cuticle softener and dry nostrils. If a baby can ingest it, it can go up your nose and be safe. This is medical grade Lanolin. Yeas sounds gross but Im a nose breather at night and this product keep my inner nostrils moist. Ahhhh.
Wife swears this cream helps her nipples heal after our daughter chomps them down. I can tell you "first hand" that her nipples are soft and perky as ever. If you are breastfeeding your little one or pumping do yourself a favor and buy this along with some hydrogel, you will thank me later.
Love this product. Very moisturizing, not too difficult to spread and scent is subtler than most other lanolin creams I've tried (including Lansinoh, which is good stuff but smells more strongly than this one).
I've used it for deep moisturizing at night (cracked/bleeding hands during the winter) and sore/cracked nipples from breastfeeding. For both purposes, it works amazingly well.
At the time I bought it (a few months ago) it was the best price I had found - $15 for two bottles. However it appears there is now a single bottle available on Amazon for less than $7, so shop around first to find the best price. Great product overall.
The only reason I gave these 4 stars is because this ointment does not prevent bacterial infections which some mothers can experience. But overall, when you start out breast feeding, this can be a soothing lifesaver to your boobies. Just be sure to keep switching out nursing pads and/or nursing bras. It calms dry nipples quickly.
I don’t know much about this, but my wife is much happier since I gave these to her. We got a sample at the hospital and this got her through the first few weeks of feeding our son. Huge props to her and a big thank you to Medela for making this stuff!
I've tried using vitamin E, coconut oil, and a concoction I made coco butter, coconut oil and a mixture of yummy essential oils - all were just OK. This stuff really helps keep things healthy and feeling good. When I'm particularly sore (my baby has an awesome latch, but also a really intense suction) I will apply before nursing (or before pumping as well) Love this stuff. PS: I'm a first time mom
The only product I use now. Everything else makes my nipples crack and stick to my nursing pads. I originally got sample sizes from the hospital and thank god found these larger sizes online. Good price too. Only negative is it is a little tough to squeeze out.
