Warranty not honored - product not valid for use in webcams

My sandisk sd card failed in 2 of 8 webcams that use occasional event recording (not continuous). Upon contacting sandisk for warranty replace/repair, they replied below, denying warranty. Did not see any such disclaimers in product description.
Will replace, and recommend, different manufacturer for next sd card.

Failed in 3 months, do not use for dash cam. Seller is not the real 'SanDisk' according to SanDisk help line.

Purchased this in October of 2017 for my dash cam because the ad says

Full HD Video Capture
The SanDisk Ultra microSDHC UHS-I Card is Class 10, letting you capture smooth Full HD (1) video without interruption.

However this does not include using it in a dash cam, and using it in a dash cam will void the SanDisk warranty. When I called SanDisk, they said this seller is not the real SanDisk and the information about video capture is not correct. now I have a defective MicroSD Card. Also there is no way to contact the seller via Amazon.

thdr; Do not use this with a dash cam as Sandisk will void your warranty if it's used in any continuous recording device (see their warranty PDF).

This died on me in less than four months of light use (I drive probably 20 minutes a day on average). Sandisk had rejected my RMA because I was using it primarily with a dash cam, which apparently is explicitly not permitted in their limited warranty. Over those four months, it would infrequently require reformatting to be usable and, nearing the end of it's life, it would cause my device to continually restart.

According to a dash cam site while looking for a better brand/card, the Sandisk SD card will eventually go into a read-only mode, which is exactly what mine did. I was able to pull the data off of the card and play from it directly, but I was unable to format it or delete the files from it. I doubt this is exclusive to how a dash cam uses the device and more that the device malfunctions from continuous writing or that it has limited write cycles.

I feel that the Amazon listing seems deceptive in not clarifying this on the page itself and deciding to hide it in a warranty document that most people won't review until it's too late.

I gave it one extra star because the cost was good and it did copy the files to my PC as fast as I would have expected.

Cards died very early in their lifespan

It's an SD card. All you need it to do is hold your files and transfer at reasonably fast rates. This card does that, but unfortunately I've now had two of them crap out on me within 8 months of receiving them. When the first one died I submitted an RMA and received a new one promptly with little issue. I assumed I was one of the unlucky ones when it comes to getting a corrupted card. Sure enough, however, another 6 months or so pass and this card goes through the same issues. I use my card to expand the memory on my Android phone, and as time goes on I began having difficulty deleting files off of the card without it randomly dismounting, and occasionally would experience a dismount during normal use, such as listening to music or watching videos. Eventually this lead to another corrupt card and another annoying RMA experience.

This is a major disappointment. I understand that cards will fail over time--they are very delicate pieces of thin metal and plastic, after all. But to have not one, but two cards fail on me within a year of each other is just unacceptable. I'd recommend checking out some other brands out over this one. SanDisk is such a household name that it's almost baffling to me I wouldn't want to recommend it, but here we are.

Lasted ~1.5 yrs, then corrupted itself

I purchased this drive in September 2016 for use with my Samsung Galaxy S5. It worked with few (if any) issues during that time, and last Friday began acting up.

My Camera app stores photos by default on the card, and since I take a great deal of pictures and videos for work, I need a lot of extra space to hold the media before I can transfer them to my work laptop's hard drive. Let me clarify - I do not consider myself to be an especially tech-savvy person, but I feel moderately competent with most things like this. At work, I generally take the pictures and videos that I need, then transfer them via USB 3.0 to my laptop's hard drive. This process has gone off without a hitch hundreds of times before.

On this past Friday, I noticed that one of the photos I had taken (screenshot attached here) had become corrupted - when viewing on my device, it displayed a gray portion of the photo; on Windows 10, it displays as brown. All photos taken since that one have been corrupted, inaccessible, or have inexplicably disappeared from storage, with the ones that are visible unable to be transferred from the microSD card to the hard drive on my PC. I've tried copying them over with Windows Explorer's default copy process, but the process hung up with 39% completion and 0% completion during the first two times I tried transferring them, both times waiting over 30 minutes. These transfers were attempted with the included SD card adapter. I have also attempted to transfer them via USB, without success.

The problem is not with my device, either - I inserted a spare Samsung 32GB microSD card and was able to take photos and videos (and transfer them via an adapter and via USB) without any problems.

Thankfully, I was able to get the most important photos off the card and onto a flash drive backup, which is the reason this product is receiving two stars instead of one (the corruption was limited to the Camera folder). However, over 200 photos from my camera roll are now completely inaccessible (that is, they cannot be transferred off the card). I do not think it is worth my time to reformat the card, as it will simply overwrite most of the data that I am trying to recover.

I had a similar experience with a SanDisk USB 3.0 flash drive that I purchased a few years back - it lasted maybe a year, then ran into corruption/formatting issues and all data on it were lost. Given the annoyance that this has given me, along with losing most of two days' work (along with an additional few hours spent trying to fix it), I do not plan to purchase SanDisk products in the future.

Saves Files But Hard to Transfer

The positive is that products does save the files (ie, photos, videos, etc) and it provides a lot of space to save them and I'm able to use each file straight the SD card. But, transferring these files from the SD card is proving very difficult. I have about 350 files saved on my SD card (which I used for my smartphone). I want to put these files on my laptop and hard drives, but this product keeps failing when I try to transfer. I've used multiple different SD adapter as well as transferring straight from my smartphone to no avail. On the bright side, I'm slowly able to transfer about 5-10 files at a time if I keep trying over and over again. I still have over 100 files left and it's been hours of attempt on my part. I'm not sure if it's just my particular product that's faulty, but if I use an SD card, I expect that I can transfer my files that I save in there, which this SanDisk ULtra has made difficult. Ultimately, I would say it only half works for me.

Corrupts & Loses Data

When I first bought this card, I received one that didn't work at all. I figured, fine, it's just a bad apple. So, I asked for a replacement and I did get one that worked. I used it for my phone. So it stayed in my phone for a long time until it filled up and I needed to copy my files out. So, when I connected it to a computer to copy my files, I found out that my files were corrupt. Most files were lost, except a few ones here and there. Now I have to start the whole process of file recovery which is annoying as hell and may not recover everything. I thought I was buying a quality card when I bought this SanDisk product. Guess not.

SanDisk maybe not as reliable as I thought

I got this 64GB card initially for a camera for my wife. It worked well enough in that role (although access time for pictures and videos was never stellar), before my wife upgraded camera's and no longer needed the card. I then took it and formatted it for my Moto G4+ android phone. Again, no issues for several months. Had apps and photos stored on the card (formatted as internal memory). Then out of the blue, card dies. Android can't read it, Window's can't read it or format it, and recovery software on windows and linux both fail to retrieve anything. CATASTROPHIC device failure would be the term I think. I had a positive impression of SanDisk, but have since seen a lot of complaints of similar nature for their lower end memory cards. Any failure can be a fluke, so I can't say it's an across the board bad product, but I'll have caution in my mind from now on.

It's good enough for storage

Has some performance issues and seems to stutter a bit on video playback. I did not encounter this with my other micro SD cards which are also class 10. It's good enough for storage, but if you're looking for sustained performance (i.e. continuous recording of hd video), you might run into some intermittent issues. Originally bought this for a dashcam, but because of performance issues, ended up just as extended storage for my phone. It did cause the phone to reboot a few times. Verified this by replacing with a known good sdcard and no reboots. After scanning and repairing on this card, the reboots aren't seen often, but once in a blue moon, the system stalls and reboots still.

My boyfriend’s pc was able to recognize this card and he sent me the videos. Recovered the memories of my mexico trip. I wish I could use my mac though.

Original review: 64 gb MicroSD card will not work in my late 2015 MacBook pro.
Not sure why I can't open it. I have already tried in several laptops (all apple, because I can't get hands on a PC), same problem. See screenshots, if someone can help me, I'd appreciate it. It's the recommended card for the video camera I purchased, sooooooo...
I tried disk utility too, repaired it and it said it was successful - like there's no issue. Yet it won't recognize it.
I tried a different micro sd card in the adaptor and it worked, so the adaptor works. :S

Catastrophic Failure After 2 Years

I'd hoped this would be a suitable replacement in my phone (Samsung S7) after I had two Patriot microSD cards fail on me. This performed well enough but after 1.5 years, it began throwing issues writing and reading before finally failing completely. The card mounts and will show up but it no longer will allow data to be written to the card or formatting. Multiple formatting tools will wipe and re-partition the card "successfully" but the data is never deleted (it is not write-protected). Buy with the expectation of replacing shortly.
