Gus has nasal sarcoma with not too much time left to live. He quit eating his dry food because the cancer started pushing down onto the roof of his mouth. He ended up losing 10 pounds in 1 week. I got this for him to try and he started eating again! He regained his energy and his immune system started replying to everything better. I am able to hide his pills in this food and he has no clue! He takes 7 capsules and 1 half tablet of meds. Now it’s like any other day for him once more. In a way he has gained a normal life back a bit by not having to have meds shoved down his throat. He looks forward to eating time again. It’s so great! The Beef Stew flavor also doesn’t stink which is great for me.
I purchased this case of dog food on Nov. 7th, 2015 and it had expired in April 2015. None of my 3 dogs would touch it and they love this stuff. That's when I checked the expiration date. No wonder! With real meat in it, it would probably make them sick. Very disappointed with Amazon for selling expired goods.

I have two small picky chihuahua's and my dogs love this! This is a chunky stew, actually kind of looks like a beef stew you would cook for yourself. My only complaint is that I wish the cans were a bit bigger. I don't feed this to my dogs everyday so it last me about a month. Still you get 12 cans which isn't a bad deal. I was searching online for reviews of the contents of this can food, it actually is rated pretty high (beef flavor) and has a good ratio of Healthy ingredients. There is actual real meat content and not "by product" or filler content, so your dog will get some good nutrition from this.
One last thing I liked was the cans were easy to open, they have the little lever to pull open.
I mix it in with their dry food and they love it! My daughter tells me that in her Marketing class at college, the professor used dog food as an example of segmentation. She said that when he described the "nutritionist" segment, the description sounded just like me. I plead guilty. I love my Newfies and if something is healthy and tasty like Blue Buffalo, I'm in!
Searched for a food to tempt my 14 year old Sheltie, who was upset with our moving and refused to eat anything. Blue Buffalo ingredients tempted her, once she got a little taste on a spoon, and she would then eat some of it. After the move, she changed completely. Now she dances around me and barks if I take too long preparing her dish. She eats a whole can a day now, and all angst has disappeared. She was on several medications, and is now off all of them and doing just fine. I am overjoyed, because having a pet that was starving herself is no fun, so am delighted that her system loves this food. She went from 25 lbs to 17 in two months, before, and is now back up to 22 lbs.
I have been feeding my Dobie, Max, various types of Blue Buffalo dry and canned dog food. I thought I would try this stew to give Max a change of pace. However, just like with the other Blue Buffalo food I first put some dry food into his bowl and topped it off with the stew. He inhaled the lot in record breaking time. Yet another Blue Buffalo item for his menu.
I have written several reviews in praise of Blue Buffalo food which is the only brand of food I trust for Max. Frankly, I am running out of words of praise. I am thankful that there is a company such as Blue Buffalo that does not use any ingredients from China and provides top quality and safe food that I can feed to Max. My other reviews contain more information about my experiences with dog food but the bottom line is that Max will be fed Blue Buffalo. Case closed.
My dog loves the chicken flavor. I have been looking for a wet dog food that didn't look like ground up muck. BBB Stew Natural actually has chunks of meat, potatoes, peas, and carrots that you can actually see and it doesn't stink like cat food or give her gas. My dog is a 70 lb lab that gets fed a 1 1/2 cup of dry food to a 1/3 cup of wet twice daily. It does not sound like much food for a big dog but it is plenty for the amount of exercise she gets on a daily basis. Since I started her on this food she is no longer a picky eater.
Here's my dog enjoying Blue's Stew Hearty Beef Stew in real time. Don't blink cause ya might miss it ; By the way, I know my 130# dog makes it look like there isn't much in a serving, but it's a 12 1/2 oz can similar in size to what you'd find in the grocery store for humans. I've never bought wet dog food before, as it's never looked or SMELLED like something I'd want to have in my house, let alone feed my dog. I've been buying various flavors of Blue Buffalo brand kibble for my aging dog for the past couple of years. I think it's really helped him stay as active and fit as he is. He always had a rather sensitive system, and Blue Buffalo foods do not seem to cause him any digestive issues. This is our first try of their wet food, and based on his reaction, we'll be back to sample the other flavors!
The Dogfoodadvisor site gives it 5 stars. Here's the ingredient list:
Our dog absolutely loves this brand Blue Buffalo Beef Stew canned food. It has generous vegetables and beef chunks in it.It does not have an odor like cheap dog foods when you open the can...Since putting our cats and dog on Blue Buffalo foods, they are much leaner, satisfied and do not have a "dog smell" or stinky cat litter....They are soooo much healthier..The cats are also on Blue Buffalo canned and dry food, and our dog eats the dry food for puppies as well. It seems a little pricey to some, but like I have explained in the 9 months our animals have been on it the cats lost a lot of the extra weight they were carrying, one is 13,12, 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 years old. The older ones have much more energy and play more with the younger ones. The dog is lean and fast.He is almost 1 year old, shepherd & husky mix and american bulldog, and he weighs about 50 1bs. They all don't eat as much food, and it is really cheaper in the long run. As we were buying more of the cheap canned & dry food, altogether, than we buy now.
Max, my labradoodle, is 13 and has gotten really picky about eating lately. Have had trouble finding something he'll eat. I add this to chicken I cook for him and he seems to like it. At least he'll eat it some of it and some days will clean his bowl.
