Who knew reading about life after the apocalypse could be so fun.

Even more because I listened to it. I know, reading itself is better for the brain but my boss tends to get upset when I focus on my phone screen instead of the piles of paper covering the floor, catching fire and shutting down a once prosperous business all because I needed a giggle to help me focus on the monotonous.
The preludes to each story have got to be some of the best parts. While I know, there is room for more stories after the 4th book, I kinda hope he leaves it lie. The Hitchhiker Guide books had irreverence that was taken a wee bit far and pailed because of it. These 4 books are a well rounded meal and worth the read.
Sure, it isn't Shakespeare, Tolstoy, Dickens or Twain but who wants to read that crap anyway?
And don't think this is all about mutant chainsaw wielding zombies out for brains, there are some of course, and super smart bears and less then brilliant people. Alot of those actually. Mostly there are just groups of people, coming together, trying to work it out in the anarchy of the after. And a couple of heroes here and there.
