My Great Dane had a grain allergy so when I saw Greenies came out with a grain free dental chew I jumped right on it. Sadly shortly after purchasing them and before he tried them he passed away. I couldn't find anyone else that had a dog with a grain allergy but passed them on just the same. Good quality as always from Greenies, a bit more expensive than the regular but I expected this being grain free. Will look for these again when we get our next dog.Never had issues with any of Greenies products always great quality.
This particular brand of Greenies grain free are the only ones that seem to work on my boxer and also are the only brand...even other grain free cheaper Greenie products that do not cause my Rottie to have allergic reactions. Well each dog could obviously have their own allergies, but it seems the cheaper made versions of dog food or treats grain free or not cause her to start itching her butt....and start the "butt walk" on her 2 front paws only....you all know what I am talking about. None of that with this product and within a week we noticed a diff in our boxers gums. He was salivating very badly for no reason and I looked into this and everything pointed to bad gums or an abscess. They looked pretty bad and noticed a noticeable positive change after both dogs were through with the first big box. Definitely worth the investment!
Dog Approved. These brushes are enormous (as desired). I have two big gods. I noticed improvement with one dog but not the other. The only reason there wasn’t improvement was because he basically ate the brush whole. That is not greenies fault. I will buy again, but only for the dog doesn’t inhale the brush. This was recommended to me by mom, she has two tiny dogs, and they love them too.
My dog loves them. I don't know how valid the claim is re improved dental health vs. marketing hype, but he (an English Bulldog) hasn't had any dental problems since I started giving them to him—although he hasn't had a dental exam, either. The main downside is their expense. I twist them in half, and he seems just as happy with a half Greenie as a whole one. I view them more as a treat than a preventative of dental problems.
I have two German Sheps...one has normal dog breath the other - WOAH - a dead fish factory comes from the bowels of her...er bowels...I guess. It was SO BAD! They have grain free and potato free hypo allergenic food...they eat the same food, same water, same treats...same everything. She's not eating poop crunchies - so that's not the problem. Obviously our girl is an mouth odor factory. It is so bad that it wakes us up at night. Horrible. I brush their teeth too! I went from weekly to daily for her (not scrubbing hard, but you know, after meals to helpfully get the gunk out)...fresh breath lasted for an hour or so. She's so weird...she like her teeth brushed. Desperate, I tried the Greenies. It's been two days. I stopped the daily brushing to eliminate that variable. Amazing product! I know she's chewing it so that's good. I don't think that dirty teeth was 100% root cause of the solution - because I was brushing her teeth too...I don't really know for sure that it was something about her digestion. Regardless, it's the morning of day three (no greenie yet today) and she's got amazing Mentos-like breath. I'm sold! UPDATE: My dogs are 100lbs/90lbs so that makes them the "large" size. In an effort to reduce costs, I tried the "regular" size and that works just as well.
The hound requests one, and only one, an evening. It’s the only treat we give him besides a rare bone. It’s worth the ridiculous price to see him so gleefully enjoying his treat. (Yes, he’s a very good—great—dog).
No clue if they have any dental effects. Just happy dog effects. Oh, and the grain free ones don’t make him gassy, like the regular ones do. A big big win!
I have used Greenies for more than five years. Yesterday a friend of mine asked how my dog, Vashni, teeth look so good. I happily told her it was the Greenies that I give him every day. This product is worth the money. I will continue to use it and repurchase it on a regular basis.
This is a great dog treat and keeps my dog teeth healthy. When I don't brush my dogs teeth with the regular tooth brush and paste, i give him greenie as a substitute so I know his teeth and gums will be good. He loves greenies treats when he sees me going for the bag he starts wagging his tail and seats and waits for it!
My golden retriever and chihuahua love these and my nose appreciates the temporary relief in bad breath! Well, honestly, I have since switched foods and their breath no longer stinks but we still give these as a treat and to help keep their teeth clean in between brushings. These are a much better value in the box rather than buying individually. I cannot explain how excited they get when I ask "Who wants a Greenie?!?" FYI: The chihuahua gets teeny Greenies, not this size.
