Amazon.com: Customer reviews: LA Baby Waterproof Contour Changing Pad, 32" - Made in USA. Easy to Clean w/Non-Skid Bottom, Safety Strap, Fits All Standard Changing Tables/Dresser Tops for Best Infant Diaper Change
We originally bought at 32" thinking it'd fit our IKEA Gulliver table - but it was just too long. This one fits perfectly, and the contoured sides aren't too high. Works well with all Summer Infant changing table covers.
I got this on the recommendation of other reviewers, and am SO glad I did. This serves two purposes, although I bought this just planning on the first one. The second was a happy surprise. 1) It keeps my baby from sticking his hands into the slats at the top of the changing table. I was so scared that I'd pick him up (without paying attention) when his hand was in there, and I'd bruise him - or worse. 2) My baby loves this thing so much that we now call the changing table his Happy Place. If he's upset and we've tried everything else, he'll just about always calm him down if we lay him down on this pad. I don't know what it is, but we suspect part of it might be that he feels cocooned a bit because of the contouring. Whatever it is, he loves it, so we love it! Highly recommended.
Sure, it’s waterproof everywhere there aren’t holes. But that diamond pattern you see are hundreds of little holes where the pee goes straight down there and soaks into the foam. There is no way to clean it. I have several other changing pads that are normal - no holes & no leaking into the foam beneath. This changing pad design makes zero sense. Do not buy this. The pee keeps leaking back out the top (when baby is on it & the weight of the baby squishes the pee out of the foam) for over a day until it finally dries out. Disgusting.
Fantastic changing pad mostly. We had to stop putting on changing pad covers because our little one kept peeing all over them despite trying various things to avoid it. However the major disadvantage to it is the stitching/weave that covers the entire pad absorbs accidents so we may end up having to replace the pad. It is not fully “waterproof” because of that stitching.
Used it all the time when my daughter was little, My father even made a nice enclosure for it, so we can put it on top of a dresser and it wouldn't slide. After my son was born and we dug out this enclosure with the changing pad, old pad had to go due to age (kids age difference is 8 years). So we rushed to get another of the same. Real quality item, designed like a snowboarding half-pipe, so baby doesn't roll out of it. And if it is not enough, there's a fastening belt to keep baby secure. But still, please, do not leave them unattended. Accidents do happen. There are many cover cases for it if you decide to give it an enhanced look. We love it
We love this changing pad so much - we bought two. We have three floors in our home and it was very difficult going up the stairs so often after a c-section, so we set up a second changing station downstairs. I bought this one because it was slightly cheaper than the other option and I think it’s just as good. All the changing covers we bought fit it perfectly. We cut the straps off of one because they were getting in the way, but now I’m glad we bought two because my baby is squirming more and I see why those straps can be useful. I definitely don’t recommend cutting off the straps :)
The pad is advertised as non-skid but the bottom is actually just a fibrous material, not the non-skid rubber type that I was expecting. It slides! Also the pad is super thin so when I lay my 2 year old on it, it flattens. It feels like very thin cheap foam inside, not the thick memory foam type that even has any type of density to it. Also, the strap ripped off from the base the second day I had it but i got a replacement quickly. If you’re looking for something that’ll just do but not expecting it to last through a few years, then this will do for now.
Good changing pad for the price. comes with hardware to attach to back of dresser for safety. I bought this one to go on a regular dresser and its doing the job great. Sometimes when i put the clean changing pad cover on it, it seems to bed at the tom/bottom from the changing pad cover being a little tight after a fresh wash which makes the base of the pad seem a little flimsy - but maybe they all are? Either way I kept this item and am satisfied with our purchase!
