Police Bike Unit Tested and Approved!!!

My husband is a Police Officer in the Bike Unit and these are the only sneakers he will buy for work. Every year we replace them with a new pair of the same sneakers. They hold up well to chasing criminals down. LOL He loves the way the memory foam feels. These sneakers are the most comfortable sneakers he has ever owned. Never any rubbing or blisters and they hold up well. He also wears these on his days off too. They are true to size and fit perfect each time. Great Price BUT

Great Price BUT.... Bought them a few times for my husband. He's a retail Manager so he's on concrete floors all day. At first the are great and super comfy but they only last about 4 months before the foam starts deforming and breaking off. Going to try a different shoe this time. The pictures are from two different pairs to show how the foam breaks down.

I love these sneakers, this is my 5th pair. They are extremely comfortable and I have a wide 3E foot and can only wear basically New Balance or Sketchers. I choose Sketchers all the time now over New Balance for two main reasons Comfort and Price; Sketchers are more comfortable with the soft memory foam inserts and are less than a 3rd of the price of what I used to buy the top of the line New Balance sneakers for. Sketchers to me are more comfortable than the most expensive top of the line New Balance. Now having said that I want to be fair; I am on my feet for work standing and walking approximately 13000 steps a day for 8 hrs and they are great, but I'm not actually running so as shoes for running your going to have to find that for yourself. My advice is try them and see for yourself I highly recommend these sneakers.

Very good shoe for the money

I was pleasantly surprised when I went to review these shoes. I did not realize it had been over a year since I purchased them. All in all, they are a good shoe. The soles on mine are pretty much worn out after a year but I am very hard on shoes. Also, I walk a lot after I get home from work and most days I walk at least a mile or more on sidewalks, paved and unpaved trails. For the price of these shoes, these are very good. I am buying another pair!!

Wasnt sure quite what size to order. Wear 13 in Nike. 11.5 is absolutely perfect. The memory foam insole is very soft. The shoes are lightweight without feeling cheap. They look good and have a substantial sole with good lugs. Come with a spare set of laces! Wide width is perfect for my foot. Ready to put them through the paces tomorrow at work. On my feet 8 hours everyday.
Update- these shoes last about 5 months before showing signs of wear. Bought two pairs back to back. The memory foam does break down after a few months. The soles came unglued. Excessive foot pain. Remind you that I am 6'1 350, and I put these shoes through extreme duty on concrete in a machine shop. They are ok for the money. But you have to replace them when the memory foam breaks down or you will have wicked foot problems. I later opted for a conventional leather shoe with a conventional insole. More structure and support for a longer period of time.

Balmy from the foam

PROS:
* Fit my feet perfectly (Sketchers tend to handle wide feet well)
* Good arch support

CONS:
* Memory foam is WARM

Memory foam holds in more heat, and the upper is not ventilated enough to compensate. Outside, walking, they're okay, but a little warm. During a gym workout, they were downright balmy. Wicking, wool-blend socks help keep from getting slippy-sweaty, but once done, I was ready to take them off.

Updated 2020-11-27:
I use wool socks almost exclusively now, and don't notice a thermal or moisture problem. I keep coming back to these shoes. The heel stays put, and the toebox is wide enough for me. I get 2 years out of a pair, which is used for daily wear, plus about 100 miles of walking. I think this translates into about 250 miles of total wear. I vary from 275 to 315 pounds, so I would expect a lighter person to get more wear out of them. I have tried New Balance and Asics, only to find their heel bites in so low that it just slips up and down constantly. I'm pretty much resolved to Sketchers' these days, but I still try a few others for if/when Sketchers makes a big change.

It was a tad bit bigger than expected, but that's because it's wide fit. I over compensated like I normally do on normal width shoes. But they fit well enough that I didn't see the need to exchange them.

This was my first pair of wide fit shoes and I feel like I've been missing out my whole life. I've always worn normal width shoes and have always suffered from discomfort. especially when running or hiking long distances, my feet were always the problem. Toes cramming on top of each other. But with these shoes, I could go hiking for hours and not be in pain. Plus it has memory foam which makes it feel like you're walking on clouds. at least for the first few weeks of use.

Great multipurpose shoe

This is going to be a cookie-cutter review of two pairs of Sketchers Memory Foam Shoes/Sneakers.

I purchased two different pairs, one Vigor 2.0 (grey/black) and the other an After Burn M.Fit. (tan/brown color) Outside of their names, and some aesthetics difference, both of these pairs are basically the same shoes. OK, well some will argue that they are different shoes just because the type of soles they have, but honestly my feet cant tell the difference between them. Speaking of my feet, they are definitely loving the memory foam padding. Both of these shoes were put into immediate service after they arrived at the house, and I’ve pretty much been wearing them every single work day for the past 3 weeks.

I recently got into a health craze, and seeing that I live approximately 2 miles (each way) from work, I figured I could begin walking or biking in. The first couple days I made the trek wearing my work boots, and quickly discovered that while they might be comfortable to wear under normal circumstances, they quickly lose said comfort a mile into lengthy walk. So, I went looking for decent shoes, from a brand I trust, with enough good reviews to convince me to take a chance on them. Enter the Vigor and After Burn.

I consider these more of a day-hiking wear than something one would wear to the gym. They’re extremely comfortable to walk in, but not to sure how they would handle the stresses of a vigorous aerobic-style workouts. I also don’t consider them running shoes, although they do show up when you search for athletic shoes on Amazon.

What else. My shoe size has always been a bit weird. On average, I normally wear a size 13.5 W, but I’ve found that some vendors 13 Wide fit just fine, where others I had to move up to a 14 just so my toes don’t feel like they’re being crushed. I purchase 13XW, hoping that this will be one of those occasion where the smaller size would fit. Also, sizes 13.5 or 14 weren’t available at time of purchase. Well, the gamble paid off, they both fit. While I may not be able to wear thick winter socks with the shoes, they fit comfortably enough with your standard tube sock.

I have seen a few reviews of folks mentioning that they shoes fell apart days/weeks after purchase. So far, it’s been three weeks and they’re holding up just fine. I am not hiking any trails with them, but I am putting at least 6-8 miles on them every day, with at least 2 of those miles in Central Florida concrete heat. I also alternate between them, switching colors as my clothes for the day dictate.

Overall, I’m happy with my purchase. I’ll try to remember to update this review is something catastrophic happens, or if nothing happens and they continue to do they’re job.

I'm a large guy with large feet. The Sketchers Sport memory foam shoes are a life saver. I've tried so many shoes from a lot of different manufacturers at price points from cheap to the ridiculously expensive and without any doubt these are my favorite. The comfort is incredible. One gets that, "awe" feeling when putting them on but the best compliment is that I have zero pain or discomfort after taking them off. There is no pain on the top of my foot at the laces line or in the arches. If you're overweight or have feet that swell throughout the day then you'll understand that statement. These are my 3rd pair plus I've ordered 5 pairs for family members over the last few years. They hold up well with great comfort. Nothing more to say.

High quality shoes at a mid-range price

I'm pretty hard on my tennis shoes, doing yard work, light farm work, walks/jogs with my dogs, etc... I like to purchase mid-range products for most things because I find they often last just as long as the higher-end products without the extra price, and don't fall a part like cheaply made products. This shoe really fits that description to a T. The stitches seem tight, the rubber is thick and adhered well, the insole is comfortable, and the sole has defined ridges without falling into the boot range.

So far I've only had the shoes for a few weeks, but as long as I can get a year out of them I'll keep my rating at 5 stars.
