It does NOT CLIP ON. Instead, IT CLAMPS ON. Big improvement!

The genius of this tuner is that it does NOT CLIP ON. Instead, IT CLAMPS ON. So it stays in place, unlike the clipons which can pop off a violin. And I can leave it on the violin when the violin is in its case. There's no reason to take it off. Nice.
It's smaller than I's expected, but the display is bright and easily readable. It's also chromatic, and I would be happier if it displayed an octave number along with the note name. Just so I don't have to think about it.
My only real complaint is that it turns itself off after 10 minutes, which can be annoying. I would have preferred that it restart its shut down timer every time it detected a note.
There has been some confusion due to the lack of instructions, so let me clarify. The "M" (Mode) button switches between the tuner and metronome modes. The button with the rotating arrows inverts the display in case you want to mount the tuner upside down.
The first one failed after a few days and Amazon did an immediate exchange. Good job, Amazon.
The most convenient violin tuner I have found to date. Definitely recommended.
