5.0 out of 5 starsFrom 2 to 5 stars!
May 4, 2018
Manufactured in China. There was an overwhelming chemical smell from the diapers when first opened. I let them air out for weeks and they still smell a bit. Not sure if the smell is from the manufacturing process or from the ingredients. We have continued to use this bag of diapers. They do well keeping the poop in but the urine seems to leak through the front of the diaper making the outer surface wet to the touch. Once this bag is finished we will save our money next time.

***UPDATE***
After the owner contacted me, I decided to give these another try. She refunded my order and sent me a replacement for free. The replacement pack was normal, no chemical smell and held waste good. We are satisfied with these diapers and how the owner handled this. I am changing my review from 2 stars to 5 stars because of her attention to customer service. I wish there were more people with this type of generosity in the world.

2.0 out of 5 starsAndy Pandy vs Honest Diapers vs Naty vs Bambo
January 22, 2019
I did a lot of research on diapers and was determined to get the most chemical-free ones for our baby.

Andy Pandy seemed like the best option. I was willing to take the blame for poo spills out the side and overlook the night-time leaks in order to avoid chemicals. In the end, however, these diapers caused a diaper rash that just wouldn't go away. It seems the liner of the diaper, which sits on baby's skin, isn't effective in keeping baby dry. Just because it's made of aloe doesn't mean much. We went through probably about 12 packs of these.

Honest Diapers were flimsy. We didn't even get through a pack—they just weren't worth it.

Naty was interesting. I didn't mind the papery texture. BUT they leaked regularly at night, soaking baby's clothes and sheets. During the day they were fine, and they also kept poos in check (no spillage). I did find, however, for really big poos, the edges of the diapers seemed nearly saturated (again, papery texture...).

Bambo (the original version in the green, I haven't tried the white packaged one) have been the best. No leakage, no poo spillage, no diaper rash. Winner!

Also, I recommend TruKid eczema cream. That helped heal the very raw diaper rash that we had with the Andy Pandy diapers!

3.0 out of 5 starsNewborn Sz needs to be smaller.
April 23, 2016
Size: Newborn (Pack of 50)Verified Purchase
I like that they don't cause chemical burn/rashes (like other brands) and they don't smell like perfume, in fact they smell kinda plant like :-)

Good idea in theory but the Newborn size is off, too tall & wide. I had to fold them down and pull tab to fasten across the other. Being too large causes dampnes & leg leaks. I was hoping to use these until our lil girl is big enough to use our N cloth diapers but they're just too big :-(

I bought 2 packs of these but had to go back to using Huggies brand (which I didn't want to do because those made her lil bum red)

I'll be donating these to community action for families in need of diapers.. I'd say Newborn Sz is more like a Sz 1-2.

3.0 out of 5 starsThe fit is unfortunate bc I love everything else about these diapers...
February 6, 2019
Size: Large (Pack of 70)Verified Purchase
I love everything about these diapers except the fit and so it seems I will have to continue to look...
They are super-soft, seem to keep my son’s super-sensitive eczema-ridden skin happy overall, and they hold everything in, as long as they stay situated on him :( He’s an average size and build for an 18mo, at about 23 lbs, but the Large are just to big. The elastic leg often gaps, and if I pull the tape tabs super tight where the tape overlaps themselves to remove or mitigate the leg gap, then the wings slide up or down (see pics). These photos were taken after maybe 15mins of wear, and half that time spent nursing.
They are so soft and as far as construction hold up great (compared to 7th gen and Honest co who seemingly shred up or lose their pulp quickly).
We change diapers often, after every soil as soon as possible, so that’s not the issue. The size ranges of Andy Pandy diapers for my guy just don’t serve him/us well. I wish the weight ranges overlapped a little more.
I’m considering trying a sample pack of mediums off their direct website, but feel fairly certain they will be too small, particularly with pee volume.
I am really disappointed.
Maybe we’ll be back in 2-3lbs, but hopefully we’ll have found something else that will work for us before then.

3.0 out of 5 starsFormer fan, now maybe not so much.
November 23, 2014
Size: Medium (Pack of 80)Verified Purchase
Updated review 3/20/2015: Had to take away a couple of stars, for a few reasons. The first (and probably biggest) reason is that the diapers keep going out of stock on Amazon, which is the only place they are available for purchase. It is pretty freakin' inconvenient to go to buy your regular brand of diapers, only to find out that they are not in stock and there is no ETA. The last time this happened, it took weeks before we could get more, and they are currently out of stock again. I posted to Andy Pandy's Facebook page asking when they would be available and didn't get a response. In fact, I just went to go look and it appears that they had time to delete my post (?!), but no time to respond to it. Serious customer service fail.

Also, my son has been soaking through diapers at night. This never used to happen; maybe because I switched him to formula he's taking in more? Either way, I now have to do a middle of the night diaper change or I will find the diaper soaked through and completely falling apart in the morning. So if you have a baby who has a lot of output at night and want something that he/she can sleep straight through in, you might keep looking.

I've been using APs since my little guy was born, except when I was trying other brands during the times I couldn't get them because of stocking issues. I'm going to start looking around again...who knows, maybe I'll come back to AP again and maybe not. I still like their attention to safety and dedication to being eco-friendly, but for now, I'm going to give Honest Company another shot and see how it goes. Don't have much of a choice in the matter since these diapers aren't available for purchase anyhow. Not to mention that I'm even more motivated to find a different diaper brand that works for us after AP couldn't be bothered to answer my perfectly friendly inquiry about when I could buy some of their diapers. At their price point, I expect a lot more. That's a pretty good way to lose a loyal customer.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I didn't fully appreciate how good these diapers are until they were out of stock for a few weeks. Call me a hippie, but I'm just not comfortable with using traditional diapers (Pampers, Huggies, etc), because of the chlorine and other chemicals as well as environmental concerns. After reading a lot of reviews on eco diaper brands, Andy Pandys are what I stocked the nursery with before my baby was born, and I got so spoiled without even realizing it. These diapers are so soft, so absorbent and have a very sensitive wetness indicator - it will turn blue enough to see through a white onesie if the baby is even a little bit wet. I also like that there are no "cute" designs - and therefore no dyes to irritate my baby's skin.

When they were out of stock, I tried several other brands - Earth's Best, Honest Company, Babyganics, and Abena Bambo. None of them came close. I can leave my baby in an Andy Pandy overnight without waking him up for diaper changes - with a thick layer of diaper cream, his skin never gets irritated and we never have leaks. The material seems to do a really good job of wicking moisture away from his skin - even with a somewhat heavy diaper, if you touch the inside (gross, but whatever), it still feels dry. Not so with the other brands I tried - even with just a medium wet diaper, you could see moisture left behind on his skin.

I will say that every now and again I'll get a diaper on which one of the tabs will pull completely off when I go to wrap the diaper up and throw it in the trash. Not a big deal for us so far, but I can see how it might be more of a problem once he's up and walking around. I'll update if necessary, but so far, so good.

Yes, these diapers are at the top of the price range, but to me, it's worth it. After they showed back up on Amazon, I stocked up so I don't run out again. Middle of the night diaper changes = tired baby = cranky baby, and when baby ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. Also, they are a family-run business and they donate a portion of each sale to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. I won't be switching brands anytime soon.

3.0 out of 5 starsChemical smell
August 19, 2019
Size: Large (Pack of 70)Verified Purchase
We have used these for months and have had issues here and there but overall worked well. This last bag smelled horrible of chemicals and I am returning them. I will order one more bag to try but I am very annoyed and worried why this was the case from a "chemical-free" diaper option. Would love the company to comment what this smell is! Sadly we may have to look for an alternative if the second bag needs to be returned too from the very obvious smell.

3.0 out of 5 starsThey REALLY run large
January 28, 2018
Size: Newborn (Pack of 50)Verified Purchase
I was so excited to find these and took a chance on the newborn diapers after reading other reviews that said they ran a little large. To say these newborn diapers run a little large is like saying Shaquille O’Neal is sort of big. They are incredibly soft, seem fairly absorbent - though they don’t do the magic wicking that the big brands do - and aren’t that much more expensive than some of the big brand “sensitive” diapers, all definitely on the plus side. But unless you have a nine or ten pound newborn (and good on you if you do!), I’d recommend waiting a few months to use these.

3.0 out of 5 starsWay too big for a smaller newborn
July 26, 2019
Size: Small (Pack of 94)Verified Purchase
I'm using disposables for the first month or two then switching to cloth, so I wanted something environmental friendly and chemical free. It's hard for me to give a more accurate review because these diapers are WAY too big for my 8 pound newborn. She blew out the first diaper I put on her and I don't want to take another chance. I bought the big pack and wish I could return them, but I've already opened them and used a couple. I can't use them and I will be starting cloth diapers most likely before they will fit her.

3.0 out of 5 starswon't hold up overnight for a tossing and turning toddler
September 18, 2017
Size: Medium (Pack of 80)Verified Purchase
These worked great until our 1 year old started to toss, turn and sleep walk. Somehow they shift and she pees out the side. No matter how much care I put into putting them on "correctly". Also, If I put her in her hiking backpack, they sometimes shift and slide to the side and she pees out the side during the day. If they were to stay in place they'd hold a lot of liquid. Just as much as a pampers or huggies brand. I like that they are biodegradable. Other than that there are not of much use to us anymore now that she is a toddler and active.

3.0 out of 5 starsNot very good for overnight
August 26, 2019
Size: Large (Pack of 70)Verified Purchase
I wanted to like the diapers as always try to get the most eco friendly and also good for people products. However, when using as overnight I found my child covered in some kind of crystallized urine ( i'm guessing). It was coming out of the diaper in small chunks that can be grabbed by children easily; not very safe. it works well when changing frequent, not for overnight, and run small. Not buying again.

3.0 out of 5 starsIndicator not working not entirely leak proof
May 1, 2019
Size: Small (Pack of 94)Verified Purchase
These have been good up until a recent order I received. A recent package I recieved has a bunch of diapers where the indicators aren't working. My baby's diaper has been full of poop several times and the line hasn't turn blue. Also, the bigger my baby gets the less these diapers become leak proof.

3.0 out of 5 starsFaulty tabs awful, wetness indicator only thing keeping us from returning
March 7, 2019
Size: Newborn (Pack of 50)Verified Purchase
I like that they have a wetness indicator, are “eco-friendly”, and are pretty soft.

However, it drives me nuts that when you go to open the sticky tabs that keep the diaper on it pull off the fabric/diaper so they are no longer sticky! You have to sit there and try to pull the diaper material off the tab before fastening it to your screaming newborn. This is a huge turn off and i have had to throw away many unused diapers due to this. Also the newborn size is still pretty big and I have an 8 lb baby.

Another thing that makes me crazy is that when the diaper is wet it will wick to the outside. This may be because the front of the diaper is folded due to the umbilical cord, but I would think a newborn diaper would accommodate for this. Now we have to stuff our diapers to make sure we aren’t doing a clothing change every time our baby has a wet diaper.
