4.0 out of 5 starsOn the Spot, for Jack Reacher fans anyway.

Diane Capri's series about the search for Jack Reacher is highly entertaining for those that are Reacher fans, hungry for more about their hero. How it plays with those ignorant of Reacher I don't know. Because I read these first, I then read another of her books and the Reacher books are the best in my opinion. That is just me though. Kudos to Lee Child for his support for her project. I think it works out well for both authors.
At least in her books Jack Reacher is still an unassuming pragmatist, and is still an imposing 6ft 3 or 6ft 4 in height. Lee Child's Jack Reacher shrunk to an arrogant 5.7 last year in the movie theatre. It was due to that shrinking (and miscasting) that the movie did not make its projections in sales.
I have read some reviews about these short stories and novels about Reacher that were negative. People need to get over it that Jack Reacher is not in these books. That is a realm for Lee Child to care for. Don't expect him to turn Reacher (himself) over to another writer just yet.
And "short stories" or novelettes are just that. Don't buy them if you don't like an author having a good little story that is not large enough for a full length novel.
