Sacrament was the first step towards boringville. Wrath had a couple of glimmers of hope that LoG would right the ship. Resolution sees the ship completely hit the iceberg and sink. There is no sign of the intensity and passion that this band once had. The edges have been smoothed, and we have a comfortable, reliable machine now that can churn out predictable metal for the Hot Topic shoppers. Are Willie and Mark even TRYING to write cool riffs anymore? WTF is going on here? Tossing this out the window and putting Ashes back in the cd player. Sorry to be so harsh (and MAYBE the album will grow on me like a fungus, but I doubt it), but I feel so letdown after purchasing a metal album from one of the few bands that used to still do it for me, and to hear they've just flat-out lost the plot entirely. I give it 2/5 stars just because it's still listenable, but there's really nothing intriguing going on here.
