I ordered this thinking I could get the new Gilmore girls, but apparently it is not on their yet. I get it free for a month, but have only watched one movie. It is great if you have time to watch a lot of movies etc, but I really don't. I do want to see the new Gilmore girls and thought from what I have been reading it was available now...guess I was wrong.
Bear in mind I'm using this app on a Kindle Fire HD. It's setup simple enough. Your queue is nicely organized as well as related "You might also like" categories and genres and full access to the search as well. Video playback is smooth and looks great and sounds great. The only criticism I have is that navigating the UI is laggy as all heck. I have trouble just clicking a show and scrolling betwen episodes. And when a video is playing it can be bothersome to bring up the controls without it bugging out and having them flash on and off or not responding. So far its nothing app-crashing, and usually my patience will fix the problem. Regardless it is quite annoying and should be looked into. Overall this app is still very much usable. But the less time you spend navigating it, the better.
The problem is that the screen is extremely sensitive to your touch so you end up going to all kinds of pages you really didn't choose. Very frustrating to get to what I needed.
To download the app., the instructions given were not good for that (instructions given on the Kindle and Netflix). To get the app, you need to go to the options on the home page, on the top left called "Shop" and then search for the "Netflix app". That's how I finally got it on the Kindle and I found the answer on an online forum.
The movies on the HD are very clear and the sound is great. I really enjoyed using it.
I like the ease of streaming a movie. Unfortunately, a lot of the movies we want to see are not available. I am not necessarily referring to newly released movies, but classics that I want to watch with my kids. For example, I wanted to watch Dumb and Dumber with my kids this past weekend - Not available. This type of scenario has happened a lot so I end up doing "on demand" with my cable provider for an additional cost.
