Buy this paper, but not from Amazon
Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2019
This Boise product is great, but Amazon Shipping damages the product. As usual, the shipment arrived promptly, but promptness is not the whole story of good customer service. Our paper was delivered by Amazon’s proprietary shipping service, not UPS or FedEx.
My case of 10 reams arrived with two thin yellow bands around the Boise box. The manufacturers box is lightweight and not intended for shipping. My box had been picked up and sling around by the thin yellow bands. The poor handling indented the box and the paper inside and stretched out the bands. Every sheet has a slight indentation. The upside was that stretched out bands were easy to remove and required no cutting.
The first sheets thru our HP Laserjet jammed due to the indentation, but subsequent sheets printed. Even after printing, a perfectionist can spot the paper damage, especially if five or more sheets are stacked together. Since a ream of paper usually lasts our household 4-6 weeks, it is going to be a frustrating year.
The Boise Polaris 24 lb paper is bright, crisp and prints well on both sides. If purchased from somewhere besides Amazon, I highly recommend it.
The box weighs about sixty pounds. I think that it would not be cost effective to return it.
I feel bad about giving the paper anything but five stars. The Boise paper deserves five stars, but Amazon shipping on this particular product deserves fewer. Damaging product while shipping promptly is not adequate customer service.
We purchase a lot of our stuff on Amazon, and we’ll continue to do so, but we will not order paper from Amazon again.
