A bright side to a dark history.

This is, by far, the best documentary of the Armenian Genocide. It is handled well, with factual evidence and pertinent stories. A horrible crime on humanity and the Germans helped the Ottoman empire do it - only to learn from it - as the Jews suffered only a few decades later. This is an excellent look at the first genocide of the 20th century.

This disk was very sharp and clear with no defects. The photos were vivid and relevant, as well. My only real dislike about this presentation is that the storyline didn't flow as well as I would have liked it. The video aspects are very good, but the script should be rewritten since it is somewhat choppy, although the items presented appear to be factual and documented.

For anyone who does not know much about the Armenian Genocide, it is a perfect introduction: clear, accessible, and very well produced. The experts who are interviewed during the documentary are all first rate scholars, making this a documentary you can rely on for strong historical accuracy. Most of all, however, is the impact this documentary has on its audience. Highly recommended.

You learn about an atrocity and how the government of Turkey wants to cover it up.

This is not for little kids. These people were murdered and now the Turkish government is paying to try and sweep it under the rug. Just admit it happened and try to keep it from happening again.

We have much to be ashamed of in America. We also acknowledge our past and try to do better.
