I can remember when I first heard about this sequel via trailers 30 years ago and for all it's worth I just couldn't believe my eyes and ears. Not only did it catch me by surprise that only a year since the last movie and this sequel quickly came out but I was also highly excited and elated as well. This one my brother rented for me when I was 12 the same day that he also rented me part 4. I literally watched both of these movies back to back plus I invited some friends over as we ate ice cream, some Halloween candy, and drank plenty of Cherry Coke. Such scarfing down of junk food and fun horror movie viewing was so much of what the fun was of being an 80's and 90's kid was about.
Once again we get cool camera work, great cinematography, more of a sense of environment, more attractive teens, more regarding Jamie's tragic telepathic link with her psycho uncle Michael, continued likability with Jamie, Rachel, and new character Tina and also with another new character of Samantha, Donald Pleasance continuing to be up to his game in his performance, furthermore Michael is coming on stronger than ever anbd with a much freakier mask on this time.
