I loved this movie when I was a teenager. I sobbed as I sang the last song — dry, heaving sobs that released all of the emotions packed into my overwrought teen heart. The soundtrack stands the test of time: the songs are still good, the performances remain great, and the story is still poignant.
I cannot compare it to the original, which I have not seen, but this rock-version is satisfying.
I love this movie (for it's time) as well as Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. I had the album so the songs brought back memories, but Woman in the Moon is a song that fits for the times we are re-living, again! Paul Williams is a great songwriter and yes, he is very much alive.
