5.0 out of 5 starsOne of the Greatest Movie Scores of All Time

This is a moving and beautiful score, good movie too. It has a great melody that carries throughout many of the songs that makes you want to hear it again and again. I love the use of many different instruments and song styles. This is powerful music worth listening to.
I love "The Mission" track but most of the rest of the CD is too "way out" for my taste. I just play a few tracks over and over whenever I want to listen to this. Wish I could have had a CD with just "The Mission" on it but didn't see one.
The CD doesn't work. something is wrong with it. The CD came through with the plastic case cracked. It's possible the CD was damaged in the process. HOW DO I RETURN THIS FOR A NEW ONE OR GET MY MONEY BACK? I LOVE MORRICONE MUSIC. I'M SO DISAPPOINTED. HELEN I. LENTI, SOUTHBRIDGE , MA email@example.com
What a disappointment! Nothing but a series of very short snippets of music, with the entire CD running well under an hour in length. I purchased the CD based in large part upon the glowing reviews, as well as hearing some of the composer's other film music. After listening, I cannot comprehend all the praise; this score left me cold and uninspired. I will never listen to it again; wish I could return it to Amazon for a refund. Much ado about nothing, and overpriced to boot. I would give it zero stars if I could.
I was very excited to receive this soundtrack based on the reviews it has gotten. What a huge disappointment. The tracks are too short, disjointed and lack any consistency. Essentially, it is impossible to listen to and enjoy at the same time. Just when you think a piece is developing, it is cut short.
I can only warn any perspective buyer: run. This is a waste of money.
I hate it because it's a dud CD. I missed the return window because my husband was seriously ill and died 10 days ago. I had not even taken it out of the envelope. When I tried it in an old Bose system I have I wrongly assumed the system had become faulty. When I took the music system to a Bose repairer he told me that they could no longer get parts for it, so I bought a new system, set it up etc. and then decided to play my Morricone CD - nothing, no sound, it couldn't 'read' it etc. I then tried it in my cheap system still no sound. I tried a different CD in my Roberts system - perfect. Only then did I realise that the Bose system I left with the retailer when I bought my new system might not have been faulty. I cannot remember who I bought this through but I will make sure I don't use them again when I sort out who it is..
I have never seen the film and I already knew Gabriel's Oboe so there was nothing new for me. I do not understand what your reviewers were on about. I just flicked from one piece to the next and found nothing remotely interesting. I threw it away. Sorry!
